The Health & Safety Coördinator for the HEINEKEN Head Office in Amsterdam provides active day-to-day health and safety support to the organization. In this role you pro-actively identify health and safety (H&S) risks in the business and assist the organization in setting up fit-for-purpose risk reduction programs and in building a leading Health & Safety culture that are closely aligned with the H&S strategy and plans. Our ideal candidate is a hands-on professional who liaises on a day-to-day basis with relevant stakeholders in various functions to solve H&S challenges and lead H&S continuous improvement initiatives in Head Office locations.

 

We are looking for a passionate and experienced health and safety professional who is not afraid to face up to tough safety choices in a challenging business environment. This is a visible role with the opportunity to directly impact the organization. You will be based in Amsterdam and report to Senior Facility and Project Manager.

 

Your responsibilities

  • Act as the Head Office expert on H&S and enable business stakeholders to develop hands-on solutions.
  • Ensure all work done is in line with national regulations on health and safety at work. Liaise with authorities as and when needed.
  • Pro-actively engage with stakeholders at all levels across functions to develop risk-based safety solutions and continuous improvement programs that are based on (and tailored to) the needs that exist in the business (Head Office). This also applies to internal and external events that are connected with Heineken International Group.
  • Assist leaders to drive active health and safety leadership within the organization, including timely provision of performance metrics.
  • Assist in developing and deploying the Health and Wellbeing program for Head Office in line with HEINEKEN Health and HEI-LIFE framework.
  • Be the custodian of HEINEKEN’s Life-Saving Commitments and associated programs.
  • Facilitate the contractor safety management program for Head Office, including key processes such as safety induction, permit to work, contractors’ safety performance evaluation.
  • Implement an effective health and safety inspection & audit program for Head Office.
  • Own safety training programs for Head Office, and collaborate with learning and development team on health related training programs.
  • Build an active health and safety community; drive active collaboration on health and safety, sharing good practices and learnings from safety incidents.
  • Oversee the safety incident reporting process.
  • Lead and support incident investigations.
  • Closely collaborate with the Global Health and Safety team and Health and Safety peers in other HEINEKEN companies to ensure that the health and safety programs that are developed for Head Office are aligned and effective.

 

Our ideal candidate has:

  • Safety professional degree (NEBOSH or equivalent), IOSH membership (or equivalent).
  • Measurable outcomes of programs that you designed and implemented in the past.
  • Leadership and social skills to interact and positively influence stakeholders.
  • Creative and collaborative mind set - recognized by others as a dedicated health and safety professional.
  • 3-5 years' experience.
  • Languages: Dutch, English.
