Junior F&B Manager Internal Events – Heineken Experience

Location: Amsterdam (local contract, no relocation support or VISA sponsorship)

In the role of Junior F&B Manager Internal Events (within Heineken Experience) you will be responsible to independently prepare (sales) and execute (operations) events (between €10k and up to approx. €80K) with the purpose to obtain a consistency in beer quality, hospitality, food and level of “Heineken” service in the Heineken Experience. You will also make sure to meet all needs of event owners in preparations & operational execution as well as support the F&B Manager at more impactful events. Your clients will be Heineken internal clients as well for external B to B clients.

Important: this is not a position in the Sponsorship team! Events are held within the Heineken Experience.

 

Your Key Responsibilities

  1. Preparation of event
  • Site visits with potential event owners to advise in event possibilities
  • Prepare quotations for event owners
  • Negotiate when needed on offered quotations
  • Event planning and booking of all requirements, equipment and event details in the event management system (SEM)
  • Close collaboration with the sales department & suppliers and colleagues

 

  1. Execution of events:
  • Act as foreman/woman during events & manage staff
  • Ensure high quality level of event execution
  • Prepare staff briefings

 

  1. Post-event coordination
  • Event evaluation with event owner and crew
  • Communicate final invoice and deliver (cross) charging to finance
  • Staff evaluation

 

  1. Being an ultimate role model
  • Guidance to flex workers and act as an ultimate role model
  • Cooperate in a positive way with the F&B Manager and other Jr. F&B Managers and flex workers

 

  1. Safety
  • Ensure "safety first" throughout the entire event process, prioritizing the safety of our crew, guests, and all (third) parties involved in the event.
  • Ensure that all aspects of the event are executed in a safe manner, adhering to health and safety regulations and standards.
  • Be in control of HACCP processes

 

  1. General
  • Ability to operational assist the co-workers and F&B Manager
  • Follow and set Standard operating procedures (SOP)
  • Ability to operational assist and work with global events as part of the cross functional approach between the wider Heineken events team.

 

 

Who you are

Education: MBO/HBO, preferably HBO Event Management or Hotel school back ground

Experience: Min. 3 years of experience in high end event environment

  • Strong operational/execution skills on the event floor, as this is a large part of the job
  • Experience in stakeholder and employee management
  • Experience in managing an operational team
  • Service oriented and eye for detail
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Willingness to work flexible hours (irregular hours outside of 9-5 environment)
  • Knowledge of F&B trends & beer materials and technical aspects of bars

Benefecial, but not required:

  • Understanding of sales principles and working in a competitive environment. Having previous experience in sales is a plus
  • In possession of a Social Hygiene certificate, or willing to complete the Social Hygiene certification (mandatory).

Language: fluent in English (written & oral), Dutch is a plus
