Internship – Net Zero Carbon Team
The internship
Are you a student passionate about climate action and looking to gain hands-on experience in a global corporate environment?
The HEINEKEN Net Zero Carbon team is looking for a driven and curious intern to support the delivery of our net zero strategy. This internship offers the opportunity to to develop a range of skills on the job and receive professional training.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Policy tracking: Lead the annual update of HEINEKEN’s Climate Policy Tracker, monitoring and analysing developments in climate and energy regulations.
- Reporting and disclosures: Support external climate reporting efforts, including CDP, CSRD, and retailer requests.
- Governance support: Prepare materials and capture outcomes from key internal forums (Carbon Connect, Scope 3 WGs)
- Analysis: Provide cross-functional support to the Net Zero Carbon team with ad-hoc analyses, as requested

The department
The Global Net Zero Carbon team sits within the Global Corporate Affairs Sustainability team of HEINEKEN in Amsterdam. The Global Sustainability team owns HEINEKEN’s ‘Brew a Better World’ strategy, which drives our company’s environmental, social, and responsible agenda. Under the environmental pillar, we have set science-based targets to reach Net Zero in Scope 1 & 2 by 2030, and in Scope 3 by 2040, and have set ambitions to maximise circularity and promote healthy watersheds where we operate.
The terms of employment
- Your starting date is 1 September 2025
- The internship is full time
- The duration of the internship is 5 or 6 months (in consultation with your internship supervisor)
- It is a practice-oriented internship
- You will be based in Amsterdam
- During your internship, you have the flexibility to work in a hybrid setup
- You will receive an internship fee of €650 gross pm based on 40 hours per week
- You will enjoy 2 vacation days per month (based on full time)
- If you do not have a student OV product, your commuting expenses will be fully reimbursed

We are looking for a well-round skillset with a focus on:
- Passion for sustainability
- Affinity to working with data and good eye for details
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
- Preferably a Masters student in Policy, Business Administration or Sustainability (or any other similar field). Bachelor students are also welcome to apply!
Conditions of HEINEKEN
- You are enrolled at an educational institution.
- In the case of non-EU nationality, you must be registered as an intern with a Dutch educational institution, from which we receive proof of enrollment for the current academic year from you.
- In case of EU nationality, you may also be registered as an intern at educational institutions outside the EU.
- Living in the Netherlands during internship (HEINEKEN does not facilitate housing).
