Internship - Connected Brewery Robotics




The internship

 

During your internship you will get the opportunity to get to know HEINEKEN as a company, also outside your department. We give you the trust and freedom, so you can work like a real entrepreneur. The aim of this internship is to create a use-case for the humanoid. Get started programming, testing, and learning how to successfully operate and later program a humanoid to perform specific actions/activities in our own lab. At the end of the internship, prepare and deliver a presentation to the team, summarizing key learnings, insights, and outcomes. Your tasks may include:

  • Setup Humanoid test together with other intern and the Heineken Robotics team 
  • Collaborate with our other team in Vietnam and their universities to setup a joint research and development agenda for this technology and to exchange learnings. 
  • Creating a safe test environment in our Pilot Brewery Lab Zoeterwoude 
  • Unbox/initialize and start testing the robot, experiment and learn what this robot can and cannot do.  
  • Create an overview of interesting use-cases which you need to present to senior directors of Heineken 

 


The department

This role is part of the Connected Brewery Product Portfolio, which is a new initiative within HEINEKEN Global Supply Chain. The philosophy behind Connected Brewery is to intelligently support the shop floor in their increasingly complex tasks, bringing in new solutions and unlocking opportunities through insights that we have never had before. The Connected Brewery delivers robust, realistic, and adaptive intelligent digital capabilities. Team robotics is a part of the Connected Brewery Portfolio and works with the mindset of a startup developing, testing, and deploying robotic products worldwide across our breweries using internal and external partners. The team is expanding rapidly, creating its own testing lab at Zoeterwoude, the biggest European brewery at HEINEKEN and developing more than 4 robotic products at this moment multiple locations worldwide. 


The terms of employment

  • Your starting date is 1 September 2025
  • The internship is fulltime
  • The duration of the internship is 6 months
  • It is a practice-oriented internship
  • You will be based in our Pilot Brewery Lab Zoeterwoude and Amsterdam Base office
  • During your internship, you have the flexibility to work in a hybrid setup
  • You will receive an internship fee of €650 gross pm based on 40 hours per week
  • You will enjoy 2 vacation days per month (based on fulltime)
  • If you do not have a student OV product, your commuting expenses will be fully reimbursed

We believe that everyone has unique talents and are therefore looking for you!

  • Currently enrolled in a technical or business administration bachelor's or master's degree e.g., MSc Robotics, Passionate about robotic technology and digital tools 
  • Can program robots with ROS2 or have basic programming experience – maybe not directly ROS2 
  • Creative 
  • Entrepreneurial & Self-starter 
  • Active listener & Easy communicator 

 

Conditions of HEINEKEN

  1. You are enrolled at an educational institution.
    1. In the case of non-EU nationality, you must be registered as an intern with a Dutch educational institution, from which we receive proof of enrollment for the current academic year from you.
    2. In case of EU nationality, you may also be registered as an intern at educational institutions outside the EU.
  2. Living in the Netherlands during internship (HEINEKEN does not facilitate housing).
