What will you do as a Global Category Manager Energy?

As a Global Category Manager Energy, your contribution is essential to transforming HEINEKEN into the greenest global brewer through procurement of renewable energy and Net Zero solutions across our operating companies (OpCo’s) globally.

 

You will also:

· Shape global sourcing and contracting strategies for Net Zero solutions and renewable energy (thermal energy and electricity) to decarbonize HEINEKEN operations in support of HEINEKEN’s 2030 Net Zero Roadmap.

· Lead and/or support roll-out of sourcing strategy through procurement execution of high impact projects by identifying potential partners, tendering, negotiating, selecting, and contracting partners best suited to deliver on HEINEKEN requirements.

· Contracting of EPC and EPCM turnkey strategic partners and suppliers to deliver Net Zero projects and solutions for different phases of execution, from roadmap development and basic design, to detailed design and implementation.

· Review and validate Net Zero roadmaps and proposals per site commercially and financially.

· Build extensive internal and external network to support strategy building and delivery. Maintain and manage relationships with strategic partners to secure delivery on contracted terms and conditions.

· Support OpCo’s in execution of EPC and EPCM contracts through active contract and supplier performance management of strategic partners and suppliers.

· Monitor, track and report on progress of sourcing and contracting of Net Zero projects to (Senior) Leadership, OpCo’s and other internal and external stakeholders.

· Support development of OpCo / brewery Net Zero roadmaps and Strategic Plans / Annual Plans.

· Develop, implement and govern best practices, guidance and policies for Net Zero sourcing and contracting across OpCo’s to mitigate operational, reputational, sustainability and financial risks.

 

Scope allocated across Net Zero procurement team:

Geographical: all 180+ sites across 70+ countries spread over 4 regions

o Solutions scope:

  • Electricity: EACs, Green Supply Contracts, On-Site PPA, Off-Site PPA
  • Thermal: Biomass, Biomethane, Heatpumps, Solar Thermal, eBoilers, Thermal Storage, Energy Efficiency

o Contracting scope:

  • Engineering Procurement Construction / Management (EPC/EPCM) Contracts, OEM Agreements, Power Purchase Agreements, Thermal Purchase Agreements, Energy as a Service, Capex, amongst others.

o Projects: single site & solution projects up to multi-site turnkey delivery

o Suppliers:

  • EPC / EPCM contractors, Independent Power Producers (IPP), Utilities, Renewable Energy Developers, OEMs, amongst others.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders of the Net Zero program (e.g., OpCo’s, Regions, Supply Chain, Finance, Projects & Engineering, Corporate Affairs, etc.).
  • Stay abreast of market developments (technical, regulatory, supply, commercial) to identify best technically and commercially viable solutions to deliver HEINEKEN Net Zero Carbon ambition.

You can envision yourself delivering on this ambition through developing strategic partnerships with suppliers, by sourcing and contracting the implementation of novel Thermal / Electrical renewable energy solutions at a global scale. We are looking for someone who is passionate about the HEINEKEN ambition to realise Net Zero Carbon in all our 180+ breweries, maltings and other production sites by 2030.

Education: Master’s degree in supply chain, economics, business administration or finance.

Work experience: >15 years of relevant experience in procurement and supply chain having worked in international environments and diverse teams

Required work experience in field of expertise: supply chain procurement, preference for 5-10 years experience in EPC / EPCM contracting

· Strong organizational and project management skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking

· Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills through excellent written and verbal communication skills is essential

· Ability to manage high level of complexity & category diversity

Languages: English (Full Professional Proficiency)
