Your job

As Category Buyer Glass you secure uninterrupted supply of glass bottles at the best overall value for HEINEKEN, meeting delivery requirements and in compliance with Heineken quality standards. The glass category is acting globally, represents a value of approx. €1.5 bn and is one of the most high-profile spend categories in the company so the successful candidate will have significant internal exposure. The category is executing an ambitious number of projects that will bring performance of the team to the next level and you will drive all aspects of defining and executing the glass category strategy.


In this role you will:

  • Develop & implement multi-year category strategy;
  • Lead tenders and negotiations;
  • Drive implementation of CVE-projects in the various regions;
  • Drive our sustainability agenda for the glass category;
  • Drive our upstream sourcing- and strategic footprint development activities;
  • Do extensive stakeholder management, both internally (OpCo’s & Group functions) and externally (suppliers), to ‘make it happen’;
  • Conclude Framework Agreements between HEINEKEN and Supplier;
  • Secure uninterrupted supply for all materials;
  • Perform spend analysis, budgeting, operationalization of contracts and follow-up of ad-hoc requests;
  • Report on performance of the category (spend, contract compliance, benefit tracking);
  • Further rationalize the category and aim to reduce complexity in the supply chain.


Your working environment

You report to the Category Leader Glass. Your job will be partly home based and partly at the HEINEKEN Schiphol office. The Glass sourcing team consists of 8 people which are widely recognized as a very ambitious, diverse, international group of sourcing professionals.


Your profile

For this role we are looking for someone with the below qualifications:

  • University / Master degree in business, financial, logistics, commercial, economical or procurement discipline;
  • A minimum of 5 years in procurement, supply chain or logistics roles;
  • Extensive experience in strategic sourcing and complex negotiations with a preference for direct materials;
  • Language(s): · Fluent English language required (verbally & written);
  • Functional Competencies: Strategic Direction & Alignment, Analysis & Insight, Stakeholder Management, Category Management, Sourcing, Supplier Management.

  • A result-driven mentality;
  • Entrepreneurial spirit;
  • Strategic thinking capabilities;
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills;
  • Good communication skills - ability to explain complex topics in a clear and simple manner;
  • Strong analytical skills.
