Treasury Mid Office Controller

The Treasury Mid Office Controller is responsible for the accounting, control, and financial reporting of treasury transactions and equity participations. The role ensures accurate recording, compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, and proper controls over treasury operations, while supporting period-end close and hedge accounting activities in a complex international environment. 

 

 

Your responsibilities would include:

 

 

  • Managing the accounting and reporting of shareholdings in Subsidiaries, Joint Ventures, and Associates, including dividends, the annual lift-up process, external HNV dividend distributions, share buy-back programmes, and related regulatory reporting to the Dutch National Bank
  • Maintaining effective control of the daily Treasury payment process, Treasury and Commodity confirmations, as well as Intercompany and External financing flows, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded in the Treasury Management System (Kyriba)
  • Executing the month-, quarter-, and year-end Treasury closing process for (relevant) European and Corporate Office entities, including the review of all critical reconciliations, and control checks
  • Preparing and regularly updating the required hedge documentations for Net investment hedging
  • Preparing monthly and quarterly Treasury reporting and improving reporting process and output
  • Supporting the annual audit process
  • Being seen as a Mid Office Treasury Management System (Kyriba) specialist
  • Driving process improvements for daily operational activities and looking for automation opportunities for the processes in the Treasury accounting & reporting function
  • Managing and execution of ad-hoc projects and analyses
  • Acting as a back-up for Senior Treasury Controller

 

 

You are a good match if you have:

 

 

  • Master degree in Business Economics or Accounting
  • 3 -5 years of experience in a similar role and within a comparable treasury or financial area
  • Solid understanding of treasury transactions, financial derivatives, intercompany loans, and accounting processes including journal entries and reconciliations
  • Other fields of expertise: Exposure to FX, derivatives, funding, accounting and audit processes
  • Functional skills: SAP, Kyriba, CIL, advanced MS Excel & Power BI, Python, experience in driving automation projects
  • Strong communication skills. Communicates through understanding, influencing and/or serving others
  • Change management drive towards improving processes
  • Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Other skills: First time right mentality, critical thinking, problem solving skills, building collaborative relationships, energetic can-do mentality and curious
