This role is part of the Global Digital Integration (DI) Product Team that consists of internal staff and partners across multiple regions and locations. The Digital Integration product team belongs to the Toolkit Portfolio (TK), that covers the platforms and solutions that enable the acceleration of the digital transformation agenda of HEINEKEN.
Sr. DevOps is an ambassador and owner of DevOps principles and practices for the global Digital Integration Product Team. In this role, you will own and drive implementation of the DevOps best practices that are relevant to all the engineering work and ensure highest possible efficiency for delivery of the interfaces.
The role is focused on identifying and implementing DevOps solutions, e.g., CI/CD pipelines, monitoring solutions, automated tests amongst others. You will actively contribute into the technical designs, integration architecture standards and policies, across the integration platform and capability teams.
One of the key aspects of the role is that you see big picture when it comes to best practices of DevOps and see how they related to various integration platforms. Moreover, you own the implementation of common agreed standards and best practices across all DI teams.
You may need to partner with our vendors/suppliers and leading agencies to understand new DevOps trends, platform capabilities, and innovative design that supports upscaling, automation, and engineering excellence.
HEINEKEN follows a non-native Hybrid Integration Platform strategy. We have world’s leading set of integration platforms, that each support various integration patterns. Each platform is owned by respective software vendor: Boomi, SAP PO, SAP CI, IBM API Connect, Azure APIM, Solace, Seeburger. Around these platforms, we strive for maximal automation, transparency (SPLUNK, new relic), highest code quality (SonarQube) and consistent release management (Azure Dev/Ops and CTS+).
Your responsibilities would include:
- being an ambassador of the Global Digital Integration team
- being an ambassador of the Digital Integration to internal and external customers and partners, promoting an API-first and event-driven integration strategy amongst others
- partnering and collaborating within and outside the team
- driving the intake of new DevOps-related requirements together with fellow DevOps engineers, platform architects, and refinements to bring clarity
- collaborating with the product owner, product architect, and fellow capability leads to jointly defining the DevOps vision and strategy for the DI team
- collaborating with fellow team members and SMEs to identify, define, and maintain DevOps standards and best practices, further developing the DevOps capability
- owning and driving continuous improvement analysis of existing DevOps solutions, identifying architectural optimizations, and driving improvements
- actively looking for and improving DevOps solutions and practices based on user feedback
- owning the DevOps agenda for the DI team, advising and leading the DevOps architecture and solutions for various integration platforms such as Boomi, Solace, Azure API Management, MuleSoft, and SAP CPI
- acting as an inspiration and trusted advisor for DevOps engineers and developers concerning all DevOps topics
- driving the implementation and maintenance of CI/CD architecture, deployment pipeline design, and observability solutions
- creating and maintaining documentation related to work, best practices, and other relevant aspects
- actively taking part in peer review and co-creation with fellow DevOps engineers and developers within the product team as well as in the DevOps community
- verifying the implementation of DevOps use cases, ensuring delivered solutions are consistent with the agreed solution design and meet the relevant functional and non-functional requirements
- collaborating with integration developers to ensure high-quality integrations, platform health, reusability, scalability, and security
- actively contributing to building the DevOps Chapter and community of practices
- looking to learn from peer companies and market leaders, bringing innovation to the DI solutions that have a tangible and positive impact on overall quality and time to market
- coordinating with Scrum teams and partners
- collaborating with Scrum teams, fellow integration SMEs, and architects, learning from them as well as offering coaching in relevant areas
- coordinating with the product team(s) to deliver value through an Agile framework.
You are a good candidate if you have:
- bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in Computer Science or IT
- an industry-recognized certification in integration and architecture is a plus
- 7+ years of professional IT experience, including at least 3 years of hands-on experience in a similar role focused on building, deploying, and maintaining DevOps solutions
- strong knowledge and proven experience in DevOps principles and best practices
- hands-on experience with CI/CD implementation, Configuration as Code (CaC) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Automated testing, Observability and APM tools (SonarQube, ELK stack, Splunk, New Relic), Security and secret detection
- working knowledge of APIs (REST, SOAP), HTTP, SSL/TLS, and authentication protocols (OAuth, OpenID)
- proficiency in version control, branching strategies, and pull request management
- scripting experience in Bash, PowerShell, or Python
- agile mindset with practical experience in Agile delivery
- ability to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment with frequent release cycles and shifting priorities
- strong sense of ownership and accountability, capable of delivering MVP solutions even with uncertain requirements
- strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- excellent communication skills (verbal and written), with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear, non-technical language for different levels of seniority
- ability to collaborate effectively with individuals from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds
- strong problem-solving skills with the ability to build consensus, challenge assumptions, and integrate multiple stakeholder perspectives
- curious, eager to learn, and open to experimentation and innovative solutions.
You are a perfect match if you also have:
- preferably 2+ years of experience in the FMCG industry within an international and multicultural environment
- networking knowledge, especially in Azure (Private Endpoint, Azure Networking)
- experience with Azure AD (Entra), Service Principals, and App Registrations
- familiarity with integration architecture patterns such as microservices, event-driven, and SOA
- experience with at least two of the following platforms: Boomi, IBM API Connect, SAP PO, Solace, or other leading integration platforms (on-premise and cloud-based).
