Technology Specialist - Power BI Consultant

Your responsibilities would include:

• providing technical leadership of Power BI developers (nearshore and offshore) to assure technical quality and overall standards are met
• managing technical implementation, performance improvements and optimizations of Power BI application
• troubleshooting and resolving Power BI-related incidents for live reports
• ensuring data security and compliance with best practices
• monitoring performance for live reports
• creating complex and efficient DAX calculations and measures to support data analysis, debugging existing DAX queries
• providing technical training to Power BI super users
• collaborating with the BI Architects on the solution design to ensure it conforms to the overall architectural vision and technical roadmap
• participating in the selection of new technologies to accommodate BI solution needs
• identifying potential bottlenecks and their underlying causes that affect the product and proposing how to resolve these
• keeping up to date with the latest Power BI features and trends
• working with the Product Owner and BI Architect to understand, elicit, analyze, document and communicate BI solution requirements
• delivering working product enhancements with the allocated timescale and quality standards that minimize rework and aspire to a zero-defect culture
• understanding Business requirements and acceptance criteria in the form of user stories, assessing the complexity of these and translating into implementable solutions and configurations
• demonstrating product features during sprint reviews to stakeholders.

You are a good candidate if you have:

• minimum 4 years’ experience in Power BI
• excellent communication skills (verbal and in writing); ability to communicate well with technical and non-technical people and identify and understand multiple stakeholders' perspectives and "truths
• good understanding of Power BI environment landscape: connectivity, integration with cloud and native solutions, authorization concept (users, roles, teams), governance (public content, sub-folders, sharing properties, naming convention) 
• proficiency in Power BI development, including report and dashboard creation to meet the business stakeholders' needs
• strong knowledge of data modeling best practices
• experience of working with large data models
• familiarity with data warehouse concepts, star and snowflake schemas
• experience with ETL process, Power Query and advanced M code
• strong knowledge of external tools such as DAX Studio and Tabular Editor
• experience with version control and CI/CD pipeline
• open mind to understand and build on the views of others
• ability to work in teams and stay dedicated to a team
• experience in Agile/Scrum methodology using tools like Jira
• ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technology solutions
• experience in delivering large-scale BI solutions and reporting tools
• excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• experience in migrations between BI technologies.

You are a perfect match if you also have:

• expertise on SQL for data manipulation, extraction and problem investigation
• project management skills
• experience in programming or other IT areas
• experience in working in a multi-cultural environment with a mixture of internal and vendor resources
• experience in guiding more junior developers and/or driving development activities
• Power BI certifications are a plus.
