Senior Legal Assurance & Compliance Specialist

As a Senior Legal Assurance and Compliance Specialist, you will be a key contributor to the development of the second line of defence within Global Legal Affairs. This role is critical in leading the implementation of our Risk and Control Framework, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance across a complex and evolving regulatory landscape. By identifying and mitigating key legal risks, you will help safeguard our reputation and support business growth.
 

Your responsibilities would include:
 

  • leading the development and continuous improvement of the Risk and Control Framework for Global Legal Affairs
  • overseeing the implementation of controls and ensuring they are fully integrated into legal processes
  • establishing monitoring procedures, using data analytics to assess control effectiveness, and preparing remediation plans when needed
  • creating and reviewing dashboards and reporting tools to share insights with senior stakeholders
  • driving standardisation and continuous improvement of legal processes and internal controls across HEINEKEN
  • leading the design and implementation of compliant processes aligned with organisational policies and regulatory requirements
  • conducting risk assessments and monitoring existing and emerging risks within the legal function
  • supporting Global and External Audit teams and driving closure of audit findings
  • serving as a key contact for audit activities and maintaining effective communication with stakeholders
  • preparing and delivering reports to relevant stakeholders
     

You are a good candidate if you have:
 

  • Master’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management or a related field
  • a professional qualification such as CIA, ACCA, CIMA, or CPA
  • at least 7 years of corporate experience, with a minimum of 5 years in compliance, internal controls, risk management, or audit
  • strong knowledge of risk assessment tools, internal control frameworks, and compliance processes
  • a proactive and structured approach to problem solving, with excellent attention to detail
  • strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience presenting findings to senior leadership
  • ability to work independently as well as collaboratively across departments
  • fluency in English (spoken and written)
     

You’re a perfect candidate if you also have:
 

  • Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt certification
  • project management certification
  • experience supporting global or external audits
  • expertise in process optimisation and compliance dashboard design
