At HEINEKEN, we are on a journey to become the best‑connected brewer in the world, with Digital Commerce playing a central role in this ambition. Digital Commerce is responsible for designing, developing and scaling the IT solutions that serve our customers better, faster and smarter across the entire Route‑to‑Consumer ecosystem. After successfully building our software engineering organization, we are now entering the next stage of our evolution by accelerating the growth of Digital Commerce. We deliver digital products that directly support company revenue while elevating customer experience. Join us in shaping the technological capabilities that power HEINEKEN’s global Commerce strategy.

We are now expanding Hub by adding skilled Product Owners and Product Designers. This expansion reinforces our Digital Commerce team’s commitment to serving customers better, faster, and smarter by strengthening Route-to-Consumer (RtC) capabilities, embracing customer-centric approaches, and fostering cross-functional collaboration.

With eazle, we are building a global digital ecosystem to empower all our touchpoints: the B2B Customer, our Salesforce, Distributors and Customer Service. Within the Salesforce touchpoint, your customer is the Sales Rep and the digital product portfolio in this area aims to drive growth through improved productivity and streamlined customer acquisition.

The Senior Design System Designer plays a key role in evolving and scaling HEINEKEN’s eazle Design System (Crate) across Digital Commerce products. This role focuses on solving complex system-level challenges, improving adoption and performance, and raising the overall quality of design system outputs. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, you proactively identify gaps and opportunities within the design system, partner closely with Product Designers and Frontend Engineers, and contribute to the continuous improvement of design system practices and standards.

Your responsibilities would include:

  • anticipating and translating product, business and technical requirements into scalable design system solutions

  • championing accessibility, usability and reuse by embedding best practices directly into the design system

  • contributing to evolving and improving design system standards, governance and processes in collaboration with design and engineering leadership

  • providing and supporting informal mentorship and design feedback to designers contributing to or consuming the design system

  • designing, documenting and maintaining complex reusable components and patterns with minimal guidance

  • ensuring strong design-to-code parity by collaborating closely with Frontend Engineers on feasibility, implementation quality and performance

  • leveraging and applying qualitative and quantitative insights, including usability testing, accessibility audits and adoption signals, to validate and iterate on system solutions

  • partnering with Product Designers to support correct and effective use of the design system across customer journeys

  • collaborating with Product Owners to help prioritise design system improvements aligned with product and business needs

  • actively contributing to workshops, design reviews and enablement activities that improve design system adoption and shared understanding

  • acting as a trusted design system expert within the Product–Design–Engineering collaboration.

You are a good candidate if you have:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. Interaction Design, Product Design, User Experience Design, Service Design), or equivalent practical experience with a strong portfolio.
  • 6–8 years of experience in Product Design, UX/UI, or Design Systems within digital product teams
  • proven experience designing and maintaining design systems, including components, patterns, tokens, and documentation
  • strong experience collaborating with Frontend Engineers to ensure scalable, accessible, and production-ready components
  • portfolio demonstrating complex system thinking and reusable solutions adopted by multiple teams
  • experience in digital commerce, stakeholder management, and agile methodologies (preferred)
  • experience in digital commerce or B2B platforms (preferred)
  • experience with multi-brand theming, localisation, or large-scale digital ecosystems (preferred)
  • experience influencing design quality and practices beyond individual contributions (preferred)
  • excellent verbal and written skills in English.

You are a good candidate if you have:

  • advanced system thinking and expertise in component, pattern and token design

  • strong proficiency in design and prototyping tools (e.g. Figma, Miro or similar)

  • deep understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design practices

  • ability to proactively identify design system gaps and propose scalable improvements

  • strong communication and facilitation skills across design, product and engineering teams

  • ability to operate independently and effectively navigate ambiguity.
