Legal Assurance & Compliance Specialist

As a Legal Assurance and Compliance Specialist, you will play a key role in establishing a robust second line of defence within the Global Legal Affairs function. This role contributes to ensuring regulatory alignment, minimizing risk, and strengthening internal controls across the organisation. You will work closely with multiple global stakeholders to drive the implementation of the Risk and Control Framework and support continuous process improvement.
 

Your responsibilities would include:
 

  • developing and maintaining the Risk and Control Framework for Global Legal Affairs, ensuring it meets both regulatory and organisational requirements
  • implementing and monitoring internal controls to mitigate legal and compliance risks, and following up on identified deficiencies
  • using data analytics tools to support risk monitoring and control evaluation
  • designing and maintaining dashboards and reports to communicate risk insights to senior stakeholders
  • supporting the risk identification and assessment process, ensuring timely response and alignment with HEINEKEN’s policies
  • driving process standardisation and continuous improvement to strengthen the internal control environment
  • acting as a liaison for Global and External Audits, supporting planning, coordination, and closure of audit findings
  • supporting the design and governance of legal processes and documentation standards
  • collaborating with stakeholders across the organisation to align compliance efforts and ensure transparency.
     

You are a good match if you have:
 

  • Master’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management or a related field
  • professional qualification such as CIA, ACCA, CIMA, or CPA
  • at least 5 years of corporate experience, including a minimum of 3 years in compliance, internal controls, risk management, or audit
  • a solid understanding of risk assessment methodologies, internal control design, and monitoring
  • excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple priorities
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both independently and in cross-functional teams
  • confidence in engaging stakeholders and presenting complex information in a clear and actionable way
  • proficiency in English (spoken and written).
     

You’re a perfect fit if you also have:
 

  • Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt certification
  • project management certification
  • experience with audit planning and closure coordination
  • familiarity with dashboard creation, process documentation standards, or legal compliance tools.
