Legal & Compliance Expert

The Legal Function at HGSS proactively identifies, assesses, and mitigates legal and regulatory risks. This work encompasses contract review, litigation risk reduction, and ensuring compliance with both local and international legislation.
The Legal Function maintains corporate governance standards and ethical business conduct, ensuring that all practices align with HEINEKEN’s internal code of conduct as well as external regulatory frameworks.


The Legal Expert will serve as a trusted advisor for the HEINEKEN Kraków legal entity, providing legal insights to support business decisions, executing appropriate mitigation strategies, conducting reviews and evaluations, with a particular emphasis on Compliance and Legal Regulatory matters.
This role involves delivering high quality subject matter expertise, working independently or in collaboration with senior stakeholders to implement mitigation measures, engaging effectively across HEINEKEN Kraków and Global Functions, offering ongoing advisory support, promoting legal awareness, and reporting progress to the Legal & Compliance Manager.

 

Your responsibilities would include:

Legal

  • Cooperate with stakeholders to provide support for ongoing projects
  • Draft and review  a range of legal documents (commercial/non-commercial agreements, regulations, power of attorneys, internal procedures, ongoing correspondence etc.)
  • Support Procurement in negotiating supplier terms
  • Coordinate corporate filings and statutory requirements
  • Advise the board on corporate and registry issues
  • Assist with audit processes
  • Manage interactions with authorities

Regulatory

  • Ensure compliance with personal data protection regulations (GDPR), including  ongoing advisory on projects, leading DPIA  and LIA processes, handle incidents, actively co-create and promote a culture based on data security
  • Conduct training and workshops to increase legal awareness within the organization
  • Monitor legislative changes and recommend adjustments
  • Implement and maintain  global compliance policies and procedures tailored to international standards and local legal requirements
  • Contribute to risk assessments and implement mitigation plans
  • Support internal controls
  • Engage and maintain excellent relationships with the Global Legal teams to ensure compliance
  • Oversee vendor compliance including conducting due diligence and execute necessary mitigating actions

 

You are a good candidate if you have:

  • a master’s degree in law
  • extensive knowledge and experience in Legal and Compliance within a multinational corporate environment (minimum 5 years, overall experience at least 7 years)
  • strong legal judgment with a commercial mindset and adaptability to evolving business needs
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to explain complex legal concepts clearly to non-lawyers
  • proven ability to manage projects with multiple stakeholders to achieve compliant outcomes and possess strong senior stakeholder management skills
  • excellent analytical and execution skills, and are prepared to challenge and stand your ground
  • communicate effectively and build awareness across the organization, including with senior stakeholders
    are proficient in written and oral communication in English and Polish.

 

You are a perfect match if you also:

  • completed advocate/legal counsel apprenticeship and have professional experience in a law office;
  • are experienced in providing legal advisory for SCC sector;
  • are knowledgeable about relevant legislation and experienced in implementing regulatory changes (e.g. NIS2, AI Act, AML, Data Act).
