Background:
Our dream at HEINEKEN is to help our customers grow their businesses by serving them better, faster, and smarter with digital solutions. The last few years have seen a significant increase in the importance of digital in the Commerce space at Heineken. HEINEKEN’s digital solutions are a vital component in protecting and growing the company's revenue. To ensure that this trend is supported the Commerce DevOps Hub has been established. This newly created organization, an integral part of the Global Digital & Technology Function, is tasked with engineering the software which powers e-Commerce. The Commerce DevOps Hub is located in Kraków, Poland.

 

As the Engineering Manager, your role will be to oversee the teams developing an in-house scalable Order Management Solution (OMS) on top of Microsoft Dynamics Commerce. Through your teams, you will be responsible for implementing the technical roadmap and ensuring alignment with our business objectives. You will champion Agile methodologies like Scrum and collaborate and work closely with other Heineken engineering teams + our partners. You drive excellence in engineering practices to deliver high-quality solutions throughout the software development lifecycle in our E-Business landscape, contributing to HEINEKEN International’s Evergreen strategy. You will work directly with many roles across Digital and Technology to get the job done.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Own the Software Development Engineering (SDE) organization that is delivering Order Management Solution (OMS), our new global digital backend for capturing all E-business orders
  • Lead a team of SDE Leads, who manage the software engineers in designing, developing, and delivering scalable, reliable, and high performing order management solution
  • Hire, onboard, mentor, and develop top talent, fostering a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and improvement
  • Drive operational excellence, including code reviews, design reviews, testing, and deployment processes, to ensure high-quality software delivery
  • Elevate the Engineering build / ship mindset in HEINEKEN
  • Oversee team spirit, performance and provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering their professional growth & development
  • Stakeholder management with other engineering teams that have upstream and downstream dependencies to your Order Management System teams
  • Coordinate the definition of best practices, coding standards and the stack we use
  • Coordinate delivery and address technical debt through a framework you will create.

 

You are a good match if you have:

  • The mindset of using out of the box functionality before customizing
  • 8+ years of experience in the similar role
  • Have demonstrated experience in leading multiple engineering teams
  • You believe in headless architecture setups and the composable MACH software movement
  • Can work within and help define Enterprise Architecture guidance and boundaries
  • You have worked in modular architecture like microservices
  • Understand and can influence cloud infrastructure best practices
  • Can influence stakeholders as well as balance conflicting perspectives
  • You are a pragmatic, collaborative team player
  • Nice to have: You have experience in MS Dynamics Commerce technology

 

Technology Stack: 

  • Software Engineering best practices
  • How to build web applications on a Microsoft stack
  • Experience in observability and monitoring tools like Splunk and New Relic
  • Stakeholder management with other engineering teams that have upstream and downstream dependencies
  • What it takes to deliver working code continuously to production
  • Understanding of cloud Native vs just running an app on the cloud
  • Must be familiar with service offerings in one of the big clouds (Azure, AWS GCP)
