The Software Engineer – SAP BW is responsible for designing, building, and optimising scalable data solutions that enable advanced analytics, BI reporting, and machine learning initiatives. The role requires strong expertise in SAP BW/4HANA, hands-on experience with Datasphere, exposure to SAP Business Data Cloud, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, production-ready logistics data models.

Your responsibilities would include:

Data Modelling & Integration
• Design, development, and optimisation of data models in BW/4HANA focused on logistics datasets (SD, TM, EWM/WM)
• Implementing ETL processes and data provisioning from SAP S/4HANA logistics modules, CDS views, and external data sources.

Testing & Change Management
• Participation in unit, integration, and UAT testing cycles
• Supporting data migration activities and managing change requests across BW/4HANA logistics environments
• Reviewing SQL logic within AMDP based implementations.

Reporting & Analytics
• Building BW queries and CompositeProviders and integrating them with SAP Analytics Cloud, BEx, or Analysis for Office (AFO) to deliver logistics performance dashboards and analytical insights.

Technical, Troubleshooting & Support
• Monitoring data loads and troubleshoot ETL and connectivity issues between BW/4HANA, Datasphere, and logistics systems
• Providing support for SAP Business Data Cloud environments

Process Workshops & Fit-to-Standard
• Facilitating process-oriented workshops during the design phase to capture logistics flows and propose SAP best practice solutions
• Creating technical specifications (TSI) based on functional requirements (FSI)
• Assess process changes across S/4HANA and non-SAP transactional systems and evaluate their downstream impact on reporting applications.

You are a good candidate if you have:

• SAP BW/4HANA Proficiency
• Hands‑on experience in data modelling (CompositeProviders, ADSOs, CDS‑based models), transformations, ETL flows, and BW query design.
• Skilled in HANA SQLScript (AMDP), ABAP enhancements, performance tuning, and reviewing SQL logic
• Hands-on experience with SAP Datasphere for semantic modelling and data integration
• Familiarity with logistics modules such as SD, TM, WM/EWM, and related processes, including procurement, inventory management, warehousing, and distribution
• Entrepreneurial mindset with strong focus on deliverables
• End-to-end process understanding across logistics domains
• Strong team leadership capabilities
• Assertive, proactive, and capable of driving decisions and clarity
• Strong consulting mindset with effective stakeholder management and documentation skills
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead workshops, testing cycles, and training sessions
