Clearance Intern

Context

The Inbound & Outbound Clearance Assistant support the Clearance officer is one of the main contributors in Logistics to drive Customer Satisfaction and be perceived as the Customers’ preferred supplier.

The Inbound & Outbound Clearance assistant is responsible for managing the day-to-day clearance services for both inbound and outbound shipments to meet the deadline of internal and external customers at best cost and comply to rules and regulation.

The Inbound & Outbound Clearance Assistant works closely with Clearance Officer, Procurement, Planning, Finance, Warehouse, Admin & other external service providers.

Reports to: Inbound & Outbound Clearance Officer

 

Purpose of the job

Managing the day-to-day clearance services for both inbound and outbound shipments to meet the deadline of internal and external customers at optimal cost and comply to rules and regulation.

Clearance Service Management

  • Handle and process of logistics and clearance services arrangement from purchased goods confirmed shipment up to arrival at desired location.
  • Be responsible for the compliant of import declarations and the preparation and processing of corresponding documentation for clearance.
  • Troubleshooting, problem solving and proactively managing the compliance of the entire customs process, working with all necessary elements of the business to deliver compliance with the overall objective of achieving 100% compliance for all declarations created.
  • Ensuring that shipping documentation received is correct.
  • Checking and producing documentation to ensure Import and Export consignments follow rules and regulations
  • Ensuring / applying the correct tariff codes to consignments are being used.
  • Contacting shippers / suppliers to obtain relevant paperwork in relation to an import shipment.
  • Working with the team daily to ensure all tasks are completed to satisfaction and on time.
  • Ensuring the relevant personnel are adhering to the prescribed process and are performing the task to the highest level of compliance.

Customer Enquiry & Clearance Agent Management

  • Ensuring of correct billing of services.
  • Ensuring proper licenses and legal document for import export goods.

Report Management

  • Support clear and accurate information on clearance shipments.
  • Support clear and accurate information on clearance shipments billing.

TPM & Continuous Improvement

  • Uses TPM methodology as tool-kits for continuous improvement.

Key Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Good in English, Fluent in Khmer
  • Ability to effectively work cross-functionally
  • Ability to think both on strategic and operational level
  • Experience of working directly with Customers
  • Strong listening skills
