Sustainability Specialist

 

Scope of the Job

Job Purpose:

 

Support ESG across the entire company – facilitating the development of Brewing a Better Vietnam- to deliver our sustainability agenda & ambitions, support business performance, and enhance HEINEKEN Vietnam’s reputation as the leading sustainable corporate entity in Vietnam. 

 

This goal is mainly achieved by:

  • Orchestrating with relevant internal and external stakeholders to coordinate and drive the BABV agenda with good governance.
  • Identifying and implementing BABV data and information assurance
  • Promoting ESG & circularity awareness and practices across the business, HVN’s value chain and to wider external business, industry, media, governmental units and NGOs.
  • Being the CA coordinator & contributor across projects led by other functions across the value chain (e.g. renewable energy) as well as being the driver of circularity

 

Key Accountabilities:

  1. ESG (BABV) awareness, capabilities building & communication
  • Identify initiatives that can support building ESG (BABV) & circularity awareness & capabilities amongst HVN employees, HVN business partners in the value chain and wider external businesses that are relevant and support HVN business sustainability agenda.
  • Create and implement annual plan on this topic.
  • Collaborate with communication team and other sections (L&D, HR, commercial, sales, etc…) to optimize all relevant and possible internal channels and drive deliverables.
  • Initiate and create presentations and speaking notes for HVN executives to share at internal and external events, conferences, forums, media interviews, etc…
  • Work with colleagues in communication team to bring our BaBV stories to life for internal and external stakeholders with inspiring and impactful communications.

 

 

  1. BABW data management, sustainability reporting & assurance
  • Monitor BaBV performance tracking system, making sure data is recorded and reported accurately, timely and fully.
  • Set up and manage internal system to collect and record BABV best practices that are relevant and support HVN sustainability agenda from all relevant departments.
  • Analyse performance trends and discuss with relevant project leaders for proper corrective actions.
  • Understand initiatives behind the data and translate data into impact and value.
  • Work with relevant partners to develop sustainability report content and appreciate the different interests of different stakeholders.
  • Engage with external stakeholders to exchange best practices, enhance corporate reputation through BaBV agenda
  • Manage submission for sustainability-related awards/ranking.
  • Track and record all relevant outcomes for report and communication
  • Work with third parties for BABV data / claim assurance/certificate where required.

 

  1. CA representative in environmental & responsible pillars

 

  • Be a CA representative in driving implementation of environmental & responsible initiatives that are led by other sections / departments defined in BABV governance such as Net Zero in value chain, biomass source, EPR, etc…
  • And, where appropriate, take the lead in initiating cross-functional teams (e.g. on circularity & EPR)
  • Engage and manage internal & external stakeholders to assess and identify status/maturity and gaps of these topics against set ambition/goal defined in “Brew a Better Vietnam” strategy.
  • Shape and drive the direction to ensure deliverable vs set ambition/goal.
  • Work, seek support, or give support to global, where relevant, on these topics.
  • Be a sustainability-risk approver in third party risk management system.

Note: Partnerships Specialist will lead the delivery of the CA Partnerships under all pillars, ESG Manager & Specialist will support on all other projects outside of those

 

  1. Manage external agency and budget:

 

  • Manage external agencies and budget, with Cost and Value mindset, while ensuring excellent execution, KPIs delivery and impact measurement.

  • Coach and manage performance for intern, if any.

  • Adequate ESG (BABV) & circularity awareness / capabilities within HEINEKEN Vietnam employees and in value chain, where relevant.
  • Trust and thoughtful sustainability business partner to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Accurate and OTIF data and info of BABV and sustainability report.
  • High ranking/award in sustainability for HEINEKEN Vietnam.
  • Bold and effective initiatives to achieve set targets/goals of in-charge topics
  • Effective stakeholder management with strong relationships and high credibility
  • Effective budget and impact management

Position Profile

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or higher

Experience Required:

  • More than 4 years of working experience in sustainability / ESG, circularity, environmental advocacy or communication
  • Good knowledge of ESG & circularity principles
  • Great networking & influencing skills to engage wide range of audience
  • Information & data gathering and interpreting skills
  • Understanding of how traditional and social media works
  • Understanding principles of how to translate consumer insights and brand DNA into marketing activities
  • Organisational skills to manage demanding workload and priorities
  • Ability to handle complex issues, grasp complex information, adapt well to contextual changes and communicate simply and creatively.
  • Excellent writing & presentation skills
  • Strong project management
  • Organisational skills to manage demanding workload and priorities

Language(s):

Fluent in Vietnamese and very good English (verbal and written)
