Shift pattern: Days based, Monday – Friday  (07:30 – 15:30)

About the role

As the Shift Leader, you’ll report into the Line Leader of the area and play a central role in ensuring our colleagues on the production line continue to exude brilliance in every task they endeavour. With experience in managing people, you’ll engage with your teams to ensure that every colleague feels supported in their own professional and personal development, whilst also fostering collaboration with your peers for a functional & operating site; in adherence to our Total Productive Management (TPM) principles as a guiding framework.

Your main responsibilities also include:

  • Ownership of health, welfare, and behavioural safety by driving hazard identification, closure, and safe working practices.
  • Actively deliver a safe and effective workforce through strong wellbeing and attendance management.
  • Achieve & improve product, process, and first-time-right quality standards through effective quality control, audits, and adherence to the Quality Management System.
  • Govern maintenance execution in line with the maintenance plan and technical standards.
  • Drive high performance through clear communication, performance management, and ongoing development of team capability.
  • Deliver operational, quality, and reliability KPIs while ensuring strong cost control.
  • Lead and own TPM activity, including Autonomous Maintenance and loss reduction, to secure sustained performance.
  • Use data analysis to identify trends, set priorities, and deliver targeted improvements.
  • Lead controlled Management of Change to minimise safety, quality, and reliability risks.
  • Strengthen internal and external collaboration, including effective stakeholder and supplier management, to support continuous improvement and operational excellence.

From barley to bar, our Supply Chain produces high-quality beers and ciders, prioritising safety, sustainability and innovation to keep our operations running smoothly.

You’ll be based within the broader packaging team, focused on keeping our bottling, canning and other lines running smoothly and efficiently. Your role contributes to ensuring machinery is reliable, well-maintained and safe, while also anticipating future needs and driving fresh, innovative improvements to increase the site’s overall output.

 

Who we’re looking for

We’re seeking a proactive leader who can inspire and motivate others to achieve exceptional results. The ideal candidate will have:

As well as the above, the ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong experience in Packaging, Brewing and FMCG exposure is essential.

 

  • TPM / Continuous Improvement Know-How: proven experience of Total Productive Maintenance principles or CI through use of methodologies such as 5ys, Ishikawa, Lean six sigma or similar.
  • People Management Skills: A proven track record of leading teams with a supportive, engaging leadership style to drive high consistent performance.
  • Laser-Focused on Safety: A solid commitment to health and safety with exceptional attention to detail with IOSH certificate as a minimum.
  • Bachelor’s or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering or Brewing is mandatory.
