What’s the role?

Using your extensive experience across utilities and facilities, you’ll support the Head of Engineering by driving the development and implementation of maintenance strategies across Utilities and Facilities.

You’ll lead and support the Utilities team to deliver efficiency and enhanced asset reliability across generation and distribution of utilities.  You’ll need to be a skilled organiser as you will have to prioritise and manage engineering colleagues (direct, indirect & contract) to deliver maintenance of Utilities and Facilities  across our brewery, with full utilisation of the site CMMS and making sure that the team delivers on the weekly maintenance schedule.  Being accountable for your repairs and maintenance budget, you will manage and prioritise spend appropriately.

At the heart of what you’ll deliver is compliance with all relevant safety and statutory requirements, with all of your achievements being clearly visible through improvements in KPIs (we use TPM methodology to deliver continuous improvement).  But above all, it will be your people management that will make you stand out to us.  We need you to coach, develop, and motivate your team to meet performance targets and comply with HEINEKEN’s very high standards. The focus you place on developing your team will allow you to realise their potential, thus achieving optimum asset reliability, and of course, you’ll always Put Safety First.

What are we looking for?
An experienced people manager, who is a qualified electrical, mechanical, process, or chemical engineer.

You will be responsible for operation and maintenance of steam generation, Heat Network (Heat Pump System), ammonia/glycol cooling, HV electrical distribution, CO2 recovery, water treatment, compressed air generation and buildings infrastructure, as well as coordinating work with suppliers who operate the Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) - so experience across these areas is highly desirable.

Ideally, you’ll have IOSH/NEBOSH qualifications already, but we can put you through the training if not.  Compliance is a key area of this role, so a strong understanding of statutory aspects such as: pressure systems, asbestos, Legionella, DSEAR, LOLER, boiler operations (ideally a BOAS qualification), refrigeration gases, process gases and electricity at work.

You will play a key role in identifying and realising opportunities to reduce our overall carbon footprint and reducing the amount of water we use to make our fine products with.

Your can-do attitude and enthusiasm will be warmly welcomed and your problem-solving skills will be put to good use.  If you have a positive outlook with a continuous improvement mindset, and solid experience of modern planned maintenance techniques, site services and engineering compliance areas, then we want to hear from you.
