What’s the role?
Our Maintenance Development Engineers play an important role within the brewing & packaging processes. This person will take ownership of the utility’s infrastructure within Hereford & Ledbury sites and ensure that it’s assets pertaining to this are optimised in its operating efficiency and reliability. The day to day will vary but blends both technical execution and strategy development to drive through a safe and sustainable site. This includes being able to lead on initiatives aimed to reduce energy & water consumption, acting as the main focal point for contractors (wastewater treatment & third party service providers) and developing maintenance procedures for utilities on both sites.
In addition to this, you’ll be working to :
- Implement and monitor condition based maintenance to optimise maintenance schedules as well as UPS and TPM standards at the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP)
- Lead Autonomous Maintenance (AM) Step 0-3 deployment, ensuring teams follow structured maintenance practices.
- Conduct Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) for major breakdowns to improve long-term reliability.
- Oversee stores management to ensure cost-effective and timely availability of maintenance supplies.
- Drive, develop and implement 5S, continuous improvement initiatives within maintenance and utilities teams.
- Supporting Heineken’s commitment to sustainability and Net zero goals.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols (Permit to Work, Working at Height, Hot Work, etc.).
What are we looking for?
We’re looking for a technically skilled person who has the drive to match and likes problem-solving whilst also being to communicate & collaborate effectively. The ideal candidate will have:
- An engineer with a recognised qualification such as an apprenticeship, HNC/HND or degree (within engineering) ideally with a formal safety qualification (IOSH/NEBOSH).
- Good working knowledge and application of utilities management.
- 3–4 years' experience using CMMS (preferably SAP PM) in an engineering or FMCG environment.
- Strong planning and organisational skills
- Prior exposure to process/packaging operations and execution of continuous improvement methods such as LEAN, TPM or general CI Methodologies
