As the UK’s leading pub, cider and beer business, we’re home to some of the world’s best-loved ciders and beers, and a leading player in the international drinks industry. But there’s so much more to HEINEKEN than meets the eye.

Right now, we’re looking for a UK Tax Manager.

About the role

Reporting into the Head of UK Tax you will be an integral member of our UK Tax team, managing our Tax Senior Analyst to ensure all compliance deadlines for direct and indirect taxes are met and internal tax reporting is accurate and complete.

You’ll also provide general support to our Head of UK Tax in advising on planning opportunities, whilst identifying areas of potential exposure, and partner with Stakeholders to help drive initiatives and offer advice on UK tax matters.

In a team of 3 Tax Managers, your main focus will be compliance, however you’ll be expected to have an understanding of all tax matters. But don’t worry – we’re a super supportive team and will build these learnings in as part of your induction, we don’t expect you to know everything right away.

This role has a direct report, so we’d ideally like someone who has experience in managing people.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking someone who is CA or CTA qualified, with extensive experience within the tax function of a professional firm, in-house tax department or HMRC.

If you;

  • Are comfortable challenging business decisions in an objective manner
  • Have the ability to organise and plan effectively
  • Are able to work with a high degree of autonomy
  • Have great stakeholder management skills
  • Are an experienced people manager

then this could be the next step for you!

We embrace learning and growth and we anticipate there is scope to develop in this role. You’re also likely to bring experiences to this role that are not listed above – as long as you have a thirst for learning and development, not every box needs to be ticked when it comes to skillsets.

The application

If you like what you’ve read and want to explore this opportunity further, please apply as soon as possible.

Please note, we may close vacancies early where we receive significant numbers of applications, so don’t delay!

If you need any adjustments made to support your application, for example if you require information in different formats, or if you have any accessibility issues, then we’re more than happy to review our processes – please feel free to get in touch with us as recruitment@heineken.co.uk.

In all likelihood the ideal candidate for this role won’t meet every single requirement in this advert, in fact we all need the opportunity to grow and develop in role.  We understand some applicants are less likely to apply to jobs unless they feel they meet every single qualification. The team at HEINEKEN would encourage you to submit an application if the advert has peaked your interest rather than ruling yourself out based on any self-limiting beliefs. You never know, you may be exactly what we’re looking for!
