About the role
Reporting to the Corporate Affairs Director, this senior role plays a pivotal role within HEINEKEN UK’s Corporate Affairs leadership team. As Head of Internal Communications, you’ll work closely with the UK Managing Director, the UK Management Team (UKMT), and senior leaders across the business.

You’ll act as a trusted advisor, guiding and delivering the internal communications strategy to support our growth agenda. Your focus will be on building connection to our purpose, values and strategy, and creating a culture of collaboration and belonging.

You’ll build strong colleague engagement through strong storytelling, smart use of formats and technology, and a growing network of internal advocates. You’ll shape our corporate narrative and tone of voice, provide strategic communications counsel to senior leaders, and lead effective communication through change programmes. You’ll also keep evolving our plans and channels using data, feedback and industry best practice.

You’ll directly manage and mentor a team of three communications colleagues, creating an environment focused on delivery, while encouraging collaboration, excellence and upskilling across all communications disciplines, including digital and analytics. As a people manager, your role is to motivate, support, develop and guide your team, keeping them focused on the key levers that drive a winning culture.

This is a fantastic opportunity to shape this high-impact role that puts you at the centre of how our people feel, think and act.

Other key accountabilities include:

  • Strategy & Narrative: Develop and implement a joined-up internal comms strategy that builds trust, clarity and connection. Use clear storytelling to link colleague contributions to business strategy and bring our values to life.
  • Leadership Engagement: Shape and deliver UK leadership comms. Support the UK MD and UKMT with impactful messaging and run a structured programme of engagement activities to build trust and visibility.
  • Change & Transformation Comms: Work with the People team, Transformation Office and functional leads to plan and deliver proactive, well-managed change comms for business transformations – ensuring clear rationale, messaging and execution.
  • Content & Campaigns: Lead our internal corporate content strategy. Coordinate timely communications across business, brand and people stories, including Brew A Better World and our charity partnership with Marmalade Trust.
  • Channels & Events: Build and maintain an effective comms ecosystem, using the right channels to reach office and non-office colleagues. Deliver engaging events (Townhalls, roadshows, Leadership Forums), using tech to increase reach and participation.
  • Crisis & Issue Readiness: Support crisis and issue comms planning and training, working closely with the Head of External Comms to maintain protocols and readiness across teams.
  • Measurement & Innovation: Use data and feedback to measure impact and continuously improve. Explore the use of AI, user-generated content and digital tools to boost effectiveness and engagement.

Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for a confident, commercial and credible senior communications leader with at least 5 years’ experience in a senior internal comms role. You’ll have operated at leadership level, led teams, and built strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the business.

You’ll bring a strong track record of designing and delivering internal communications strategies in complex organisations, including during periods of significant change such as restructures, business transformations or M&A activity. You’ll understand how to align communications with business goals, using your business acumen to influence leaders and demonstrate the value of communications in driving performance and culture.

You’ll be a skilled storyteller, able to create compelling narratives that engage colleagues and bring strategy, values and change to life. You’ll also be confident using data and analytics to track impact, shape decisions and refine approach. Experienced in simplifying complex topics, you’ll simplify technical or strategic content to make it clear, relevant and actionable.

You’ll be experienced in executive communications, advising and supporting senior leaders with messaging and delivery, and able to plan and execute communications that support major change programmes, building understanding and adoption across the business.

  • 35 days holiday
  • A monthly case of our delicious ciders and beers! (low and no alcohol options available)
