As the nation’s leading pub, cider and beer company and the name behind a host of brilliant brands, we’re looking for equally brilliant people to help us on our journey to building a better future.

Did you know that HEINEKEN own over 2,400 pubs in the UK?  We work closely with fantastic operators to run some of the best loved pubs across the country.  Our Pub Company is called Star Pubs and we believe that a well-invested pub estate, run by innovative and experienced operators, keeps our pubs at the heart of their local community, where they bring people together from all walks of life.

There’s so much more to HEINEKEN than meets the eye and right now, we’re looking for a Compliance Coordinator to join our Star Pubs team!

If you want to be a part of a team that is on the journey of designing, implementing, and overseeing a culture of compliance, I’d love to hear from you! Our ambition is to build Britain’s best pub company and the world of Compliance is crucial to our success in achieving this. Amy, Compliance Manager

About the role
The Pubs Code is Star’s licence to operate; it underpins all that we do.  Compliance is an essential part of Stars culture, and this role is pivotal to establishing, implementing, and overseeing the high standards we set.

This is a key opportunity to join the Star Pubs Compliance team where you’ll be reporting to the Compliance Manager. You’ll be focusing on issuing and tracking Pub Pack requests; providing this information to tenants and prospective tenants which is a vital part of complying with the relevant Code regulating our regions. In addition, you will be involved with issuing and tracking guest beer requests applicable under the Scottish Pub Code regulations and MRO requests applicable for all regions. You’ll work closely with multiple stakeholders including our field-based, Real Estate, Pub Operations, and Licensee Attraction colleagues by proactively managing internal and external SLAs within the processes and helping to report on progress and implement improvements along the way.

Who we’re looking for
To be successful in these roles you’ll need:

  • Ideally have a good knowledge of the Pubs Code and/or Regulatory compliance
  • Be able to demonstrate experience of end-to-end compliance adherence.
  • Good knowledge of systems including SAPRE, Appian, Outlook and Excel
  • Capable of producing actionable insight reporting
  • Good stakeholder management and willingness to challenge when needed.
  • Ability to organise complex information.
  • Identify process improvements.
  • Diligence to track and audit.

If you are a highly motivated self-starter who likes to get into the detail, along with being a strong communicator who can build effective relationships and have the confidence to challenge stakeholders where needed then this could be your next step.

We embrace learning and growth, and there is plenty of scope to develop in this role. You’re also likely to bring experiences that are not listed above – these are welcome, but a core understanding of stakeholder communications is important.

As this role is office/site based, please note we currently operate a hybrid working framework which allows us to capture the benefits of both working in the office and at home.  For full time roles, we work a minimum of 3 days in the office - Tuesday and Thursday are for all, with the third day being defined by the colleague.

Our Benefits
As part of the team, along with your salary, you’ll also receive;

  • Exciting and unique opportunities to help you develop and untap your full potential – we’re passionate about supporting your ambition and growth in the property team!
  • Annual bonus
  • Company-funded private medical healthcare
  • Double-matched pension contributions (up to 10%)
  • 35 days’ holiday (with the opportunity to buy and sell)
  • A monthly case of our delicious ciders and beers! (including No & Low Alcohol brands)

You’ll also get the opportunity to get involved with one of our colleague networks where groups of colleagues from all over the business work together to ensure we’re always working towards being a diverse and inclusive company.

The application
If you like what you’ve read and are ready to brew a better career with us, let’s get going! We may close vacancies early where we receive lots of applications, so don’t delay!
