PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
To manage all technical, operational and improvement aspects of the utility services to achieve maximum availability of equipment for production and brewing purposes, this includes managing the day to day functioning of the ammonia plant, CO2 plant, HFO boiler, biomass boiler and nitrogen plant.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in engineering/maintenance of which at least 2 years should be on managerial level
- Relevant experience and knowledge in the operations and optimization of boiler systems, ammonia refrigeration, CO2, nitrogen and compressed air systems
- FMCG experience will be an added advantage
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Develop and implement departmental strategies
- Plan, execute and manage all operational and technical utility activities
- Ensure efficiencies within utilities e.g., cooling, thermal energy, CO2, compressed air, electricity consumption etc.
- Plan and manage capital and operating expenses
- Drive TPM principles
- Manage and advise on biomass boiler-related operations
- Record and analyse the consumption of all utilities supplies
- Prepare and report on trend analysis
- Initiate and drive continuous improvements
- Define, implement, maintain and improve operational standards
- Ensure compliance with environmental and health & safety policies, procedures and legislation
- Lead, coach and develop the team
