Title:  Tax Lead

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:  

 

To ensure full compliance with Namibian and South African tax regulations for Namibia Breweries Limited (NBL) and its associated companies. Additionally, the role requires alignment with HEINEKEN's global tax standards and policies, including transfer pricing.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with at least 3 - 5 years of experience in tax, with a significant portion in tax laws, including corporate tax 
  • A postgraduate qualification (e.g. Honors degree, CTA) or professional certification (e.g. CA, ACCA, CIMA) would be an added advantage
  • MS Office proficient (MS Office systems); Asycuda experience being an added advantage
  • Experience in a multinational corporation, preferably within FMCG or beverages industry will be advantageous

 

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Oversee all tax compliance processes, including corporate income tax, VAT, payroll taxes, withholding taxes, excise, transfer pricing and other relevant filings.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of all tax returns and payments to authorities.
  • Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and ensure compliance with new requirements.
  • Manage relationships with tax authorities, external auditors and advisors, including tax consultants, legal advisors, and industry bodies.
  • Lead the preparation for and management of tax audits, including providing supporting documentation and responding to queries.
  • Identify and mitigate tax risks, ensuring appropriate controls are in place.
  • Provide guidance on tax-efficient structuring of business transactions and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment on tax-related activities and initiatives.
  • Prepare and review tax provisions, disclosures, and reports for financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Analyze tax impacts of new business projects, investments, or transactions.
