PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

The Site SHE Manager ensures a safe and healthy working environment, identifies and mitigates risks, and contributes to the overall OpCo strategy. As a strategic partner to senior leadership, this role ensures regulatory compliance and promotes a strong health and safety culture on-site.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Safety professional qualification (NEBOSH, ICRQ, or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in Health & Safety management.
  • Proven track record in implementing safety programs and driving cultural change.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with local teams and support SHE objectives.
  • Valid Code B Driver’s Licence.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Translate global, regional, and OpCo priorities into Health & Safety strategies and governance frameworks.
  • Develop and implement SHE policies, standards, and site-specific deployment plans.
  • Represent the H&S function by providing updates, trend analysis, and driving continuous improvement.
  • Lead the integration of Safety, Health, and Environment into site operations to achieve SHE Resilience Status.
  • Enhance Sales Team expertise in areas such as Road Safety and Merchandising Safety.
  • Ensure full compliance with Occupational Health & Safety legislation and audit requirements.
  • Manage incident reporting in line with COID Act and internal protocols.
  • Maintain accredited safety systems (ISO 45001, Cority) and monitor legislative changes.
  • Conduct risk assessments, hazard identification, and implement mitigation plans.
  • Lead investigations for medium to high-severity incidents and track corrective actions.
  • Deploy global and regional programs (Telematics, Culture Assessment, BBS) and ensure actionable outcomes.
  • Build organisational SHE competence through training, workshops, and coaching.
  • Drive employee engagement through campaigns and initiatives such as Global Safety Week.
  • Promote a generative safety culture and influence leadership visibility.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance in all internal and external reporting.
