Title:  Manager: Utilities Operations

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

To manage all operational and improvement aspects of the utilities services to achieve maximum availability of equipment for production and brewing purposes, this includes managing and controlling ad hoc utilities projects, the day-to-day functioning of the ammonia plant, CO2 plant, HFO boiler & Biomass boiler and water treatment plant.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
  • A minimum of 6 years’ experience in engineering/maintenance of which at least 3 years should be on managerial level
  • Relevant experience and knowledge in operations and optimization of water treatment plants, high pressure hot water systems, ammonia refrigeration, CO2, nitrogen and compressed air systems

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Develop and implement departmental strategies
  • Plan, execute and manage all operational activities
  • Plan, prepare, implement and manage all utilities related projects
  • Ensure operational effectiveness and efficiency during project implementation
  • Plan and manage capital and operating expenses
  • Drive TPM principles
  • Advise on all utilities operations and manage the efficiencies thereof, e.g. water, boilers etc.,
  • Record and analyse the consumption of all utilities supplies
  • Prepare and report on trend analysis
  • Initiate and drive continuous improvements
  • Define, implement, maintain and improve operational standards
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and health & safety policies, procedures and legislation
  • Lead, coach and develop the team
