Title:  Manager: Operations (Logistics and Warehousing)

Location: Windhoek 
Function: Supply Chain 
Sub Function: Logistics 
 

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Responsible for ensuring operational efficiency, implementing strategic initiatives, and driving continuous improvement across various sections as well as overseeing and optimizing the day-to-day operations in order to achieve objectives.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:

  • A Degree in either Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration or a related field
  • A minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in a FMCG operations/warehousing environment of which at least 3 years should be at managerial level
  • Strong knowledge of logistics/distribution processes
  • Experience in SAP/EWM or a similar system will be an added advantage

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Develop, implement and drive departmental strategy to enhance overall efficiencies for end-to-end operations
  • Oversee the day to day operations of Warehousing, Empties Yard and Loading Bay 
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key business partners to enhance logistics and warehouse capabilities, streamline workflows and reduce operational costs
  • Analyse operational data and performance metrics to identify areas of improvement
  • Identify and implement process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiencies, productivity and business excellence
  • Monitor and manage the departmental budgets
  • Ensure adherence to the company health and safety policies, procedures and legislation
  • Enforce compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Identify possible operational risks and develop/implement mitigation plans
  • Lead, coach and develop the team
