PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:  

To develop and deliver an integrated communication strategy, engagement campaigns and programmes aimed at building a connection with and amongst internal and external stakeholders as ambassadors of NBL's vision, strategy, values, and behaviours; and to build an internal culture of open communication and transparent exchange of information and knowledge within the organisation.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • A postgraduate degree in Journalism, Strategic Communications, Public Relations, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a middle or senior management role, with a strong focus on strategic communications.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in high-volume, fast-paced environments, managing multiple stakeholders effectively.
  • Proven expertise in content creation across various internal and external communication platforms, including social media, websites, and employee engagement tools such as Workplace or Workvivo.
  • Solid experience in agency management, including briefing, coordination, and performance evaluation.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Lead crisis communication to protect NBL’s reputation and integrity.
  • Position NBL as a local, sustainable Namibian business across key audiences.
  • Develop and manage integrated communication strategies and content calendars.
  • Deliver impactful campaigns that engage and celebrate stakeholders.
  • Support key events (e.g. financial updates, town halls, roadshows).
  • Create compelling content on strategy, performance, people, and sustainability.
  • Advise leadership on strategic messaging aligned with company direction.
  • Monitor reputational risks and craft timely corporate responses.
  • Coordinate training with the Global Training Team.
  • Partner with People Team to strengthen employer branding.
  • Support change communication for transformation initiatives.
  • Align with Global and Regional Communications on company-wide efforts.
