PURPOSE
Namibia Breweries Limited (NBL) is seeking an experienced and driven Reporting & Accounting Manager to lead the company’s accounting and financial reporting function.
This is a key finance leadership role within NBL accountable for the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of financial reporting, strong balance sheet ownership, and full compliance with HEINEKEN Global Finance Policies, IFRS and Namibian statutory requirements.
The role acts as a trusted advisor to the Finance Director and OpCo Leadership Team, represents NBL in all accounting and audit matters, and plays a critical role in strengthening financial governance, internal controls and accounting excellence. In addition, the role drives continuous improvement across accounting, reporting and finance processes in line with HEINEKEN best practice.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting
- Professional accounting qualification (CA, CIMA or equivalent) preferred
- 8-10 years’ experience in accounting and/or financial reporting, ideally within a multinational or complex environment
- Strong technical knowledge of IFRS, statutory reporting and ERP‑based finance systems
- Proven leadership experience, ideally managing expert or specialist teams
- Strong stakeholder management, communication and problem‑solving capabilities
- A proactive, hands‑on leader with a passion for accuracy, governance and continuous improvement
- Leadership style aligned with NBL and HEINEKEN behaviors and values
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Lead the end‑to‑end accounting and reporting cycle for NBL, including month‑end, year‑end, group and statutory reporting, ensuring accuracy, completeness and on‑time delivery.
- Ensure full compliance with HEINEKEN Global Finance Policies, IFRS and all local statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Own balance sheet integrity and governance, including BSAR processes, provisions, write‑offs and proactive balance sheet risk management.
- Act as the primary point of contact and relationship owner for external auditors and accounting firms, coordinating both group and local audits and managing audit outcomes.
- Advise the Finance Director and NBL Management Team on accounting treatments, financial processes and internal controls, providing sound technical judgement and risk awareness.
- Drive working capital and cashflow optimization, including oversight of bad debt provisioning and implementation of corrective and improvement actions.
- Lead, develop and engage the Accounting & Reporting team, building technical capability, ownership, performance and succession.
- Contribute to finance transformation initiatives, system improvements and local, regional or global finance projects.
- Embed and sustain a strong internal control, governance and continuous improvement mindset across all accounting and reporting processes.
