PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The position is responsible for ensuring optimal availability and performance of the unit by planning and organising all maintenance schedules and corrective maintenance orders. Furthermore, to ensure the execution of all planned and corrective maintenance work and assisting with continuous improvement projects.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:
- A National Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years’ technical experience in a manufacturing plant of which at least 2 years should be on supervisory level
- Knowledge of planned maintenance, pneumatics, fluid mechanics, power transmissions, conveyors, instrumentation, automation and electronics
- Experience in TPM and advanced maintenance management processes
- Extensive experience with packaging equipment and processes
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Manage the expenditure of equipment repairs and maintenance for allocated unit
- Recommend maintenance and schedule improvements
- Develop maintenance plans and inform the maintenance teams accordingly
- Allocate work to artisans and technicians to conduct planned maintenance activities as per schedule
- Ensure availability of spares, tools and materials needed for maintenance
- Provide 3rd line breakdown support
- Manage and support with problem solving and focused improvement projects
- Control maintenance activities
- Adhere to Health and Safety policies and procedures
- Manage team performance
