PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:


To oversee the day to day operations of the warehouse, this includes planning, organising, monitoring and maintain all aspects.  Furthermore, to ensure proper stock management and distribution of finished goods ensuring efficient workflows and optimized inventory levels, as well as to support and lead warehouse improvement projects.


 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management or a related field with a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in a FMCG warehouse/distribution environment of which at least 2 years should be at supervisory level.
  • Knowledge of stock management and warehouse processes in a FMCG manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of health & safety regulations and best practices in a logistics warehouse operation
  • MS Office proficient
  • Proficient in Warehouse Management Systems (EWM, SAP ECC etc.)
  • Valid Code B Driver License

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the entire warehouse/dispatch function
  • Implement and maintain inventory control procedures to correctly track all stock levels
  • Accurately communicate and report on daily, weekly and monthly KPI’s
  • Ensure daily reporting on warehouse and dispatch operations, e.g. FIFO violations, stock aging, bin consolidation, trucks loading efficiencies etc.
  • Implement control measures to ensure that product quality standards are maintained
  • Monitor the warehouse budget
  • Optimise warehouse layout and storage to maximise space utilization
  • Manage and maintain the warehouse/dispatch facility, assets and equipment
  • Implement and drive TPM principles
  • Identify and implement process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiencies and minimise costs
  • Ensure adherence to the company health and safety policies, procedures and legislation
  • Lead, coach and develop the team
