PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
To develop and deliver integrated communication strategy, engagement campaigns and programmes aimed at building a connection with and amongst internal and external stakeholders as ambassadors of NBL's vision, strategy, values, and behaviours; and to build an internal culture of open communication and transparent exchange of information and knowledge within the organisation.
Additionally, to drive employee engagement campaigns and initiatives to foster cohesion and bring to life the NBL purpose ‘We brew the Joy of True Togetherness to inspire a better world’ and positioning NBL as an Employer of Choice and the best place to work for.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- A postgraduate degree in Journalism/ Strategic Communications / Public Relations / Social Sciences or equivalent
- Minimum of 8 years experience in a Middle or Senior Management role in strategic communications
- Working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, with multiple stakeholders
- Content creation for internal and external communication channels, social media, websites, WorkPlace/Workvivo etc.
- Proven experience in agency management
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Managing crisis communication, safeguarding the reputation of the organisation, its leaders, its products, and the business.
- Position the reputation of NBL to the media, industry stakeholders, influential regulatory bodies, customers, and public opinion, as a truly local Namibian business that promotes socio-economic empowerment in the most sustainable way.
- Conceptualise and deliver an integrated communication strategy, and be custodian of the internal communication message house, internal and external communication channels and calendars.
- Create and implement effective, measurable, and distinctive end-to-end integrated communication activities and campaigns, that informs, inspires and celebrates our stakeholders, and business success.
- Support the delivery of events, both digital and face to face, including financial communications, townhall sessions, roadshows, etc.
- Oversee creation and management of content on various topics related, but not limited to, business strategy, people issues, business performance, sustainability agenda, and business operations, and translate messaging into engaging and compelling content to internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide support to the management team with leadership communication to support implementation of the company strategy.
- Track and monitor issues that directly and indirectly impacts our reputation and develop statements and company positions in response to the identified issues.
- Plan and coordinate the training for key and end users based on the guidance of the Global Training Team.
- Partnership with People team to develop Employers branding and build NBL’s employer of choice brand.
- Partnership with Transformation communication project manager to develop change communication plan for Transformation project.
- Collaboration with global comms team/CA Regional team to ensure alignment on company-wide initiatives, including building and embedding NBL’s values, and leadership behaviours across the organisation.

- Excellent skills in writing and editing of copy; articles; press-releases; social media feeds; etc.
- Ability to communicating complex information in writing and verbally
- Ability to work in an international environment
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, communicating through understanding, influencing and/or serving others
- Strong in stakeholder management, relationship building and collaboration at all levels of the organisation
- Good organisational and planning skills
- Strong cultural awareness and versatility in styles
