About This Role:

 

Reporting to the Corporate Affairs Director and working as a core member of the HEINEKEN Ireland Leadership and Corporate Affairs Teams with specific responsibility for leading Corporate Communications & Reputation through integrated Internal Communications and External Communications, digital channels, issues/crisis readiness and media engagement.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop External Communications Strategy, aligned with the OpCo Mission and vision. 
  • Create corporate messaging, delivered through an annual corporate communications plan which is aligned with the Mission strategy and needs.
  • Manage existing external channels and develop new channels that incorporate all relevant media.
  • In partnership with the CA Director, work with external media agency on corporate communications and media relations.
  • Develop and lead the Internal Communications Strategy, aligned with the OpCo Mission and Vision.
  • Create an annual internal communications plan, ensuring that the plan and activities support the business strategy and needs.
  • Manage existing internal communications channels with all functions across the business to create elevated moments of strategic communication.
  • Develop an Integrated Stakeholder Strategy ensuring Cohesive engagement across our stakeholder base
  • Define how we communicate to our external stakeholders through our various communications channels. Build HEINEKEN Ireland’s profile on Social Media with a focus on LinkedIn and the HEINEKEN Ireland corporate website.
  • Develop and deliver Digital Comms Calander, using insights and analytics to develop strategy and identity key voices and stories’.
  • Has responsibility and accountability for Internal Communication Budget and parts of the External Communication Budget within overall CA Budget.
  • Set stretch Internal Communication and External Communication KPIs in consultation with the CA Director. Measure the effectiveness of results, and adjust activities and messages accordingly.
  • Manage standards for the company’s internal and external corporate visual identity, ensuring employees are clear on the visual identity. Ensures all messages are consistent with the Company brand and that the HEINEKEN Ireland tone of voice is correctly adhered to in all comms.
  • Manage, along with the CA Team, the annual employee company conference from event management to messaging and content creation, working in partnership with teams from across the OpCo to deliver best in class experience which lands the OpCo mission and brews the joy of true togetherness.
  • Consult and collaborate internally to define functional internal and external project requirements. Act as an advisor on strategic messaging and optimum channel mix.
  • Conceptualise, write, edit, and create content for internal and external corporate materials, including business updates, magazines, intranet content, website content, internal news releases, videos, graphics and presentations.
  • Capture, create and edit photo and video content to be used on internal and external channels.
  • Work individually and/or in partnership with internal and external creative service professionals, to create effective print, video, presentation, and digital communications. Stay abreast of the latest communications tools and media, applying new ideas and concepts to the company’s communications efforts.
  • Lead the cross functional Internal Comms Champions Team.
  • Work in collaboration with Sustainability & Public Affairs Manager on internal and external communications for Sustainability and Community partnerships.
  • Support the CA Director in the Crisis Management Team to ensure preparedness and rapid response
  • Performs additional duties as requested.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • A third level qualification in a relevant discipline
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within a Corporate Affairs or Communications team is required.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in managing both internal and external communications, including traditional media engagement and social media activations.
  • Experienced in using media engagement platforms eg RuePoint
  • Be strategic in their thinking (SHAPE)
  • Be self-motivated with excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels; Strong capability to foster long term cross functional & business relationships (CONNECT)
  • Possess effective project management, planning and organisational skills to perform in a demanding environment (DELIVER)
  • Be creative with desire for innovation and ‘doing things differently’ (DEVELOP)
  • Excellent writing skills, including the ability to reduce complicated subject matter into simple terms for a variety of audiences; high-level corporate writing experience necessary; demonstrated creative copywriting skills also necessary
  • Highly Digitally savvy and knowledge of various media production including print, video, and web and the managerial aptitude to accomplish them in an innovative and cost-effective manner
  • Very proficient with all Microsoft office packages, especially excel and power-point, and Canva.
  • Knowledge of social media – both the trends and business realities as they relate to corporate communications
  • Ability to work effectively to deliver measurable results in demanding environments with diplomacy and adaptability, while handling multiple tasks, prioritising activities and meeting deadlines
  • Strong personal initiative, creativity, problem solving skills with ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
