Portfolio Strategy Lead, APAC

Job purpose:

Articulating a practical and inspiring immediate and long-term portfolio strategy informed by analytical rigor, deep consumer understanding and collaboration with multiple stakeholders

  • Analyse internal and external factors including in-depth demand space to articulate the portfolio strategy for the region APAC. Craft the story in an inspiring, clear way to gain buy-in and momentum on commitments to deliver to that ambition.
  • Lead portfolio strategy projects with markets across the region with local management and operation team to deliver a clear portfolio strategy for the market in line with the region and global ambition.
  • Orchestrate the commercial planning process for the region and 20+ markets to ensure we are coming together as one commerce team; our plans are ambitious and sound plus delivering to the vision
  • Ensure that resource allocation choices are effective and efficient plus the type and level of spend are geared towards growing brands across all our markets.
  • Support or co-lead another related project on category development, delivery of portfolio goals


Stakeholder Management:

Key stakeholders include but are not limited to

  • Regional Leadership Team and Regional Commercial Team
  • Country Management Team (specifically GM and Marketing Director)

Global Portfolio, Innovation and Category Teams


Organizational Context:

Direct report to the Global lead of Portfolio Strategy (GC) and to the Regional Marketing Excellence Director


Experience and Profile:

Education: Min. Undergraduate degree (MBA highly preferred)


Work Experience:

Min. 10 years of experience that ideally includes

  • Working with a large consumer good company
  • On ground commercial experience in Marketing
  • Analytically rigorous projects
  • Consulting experience with project management
  • Significant stakeholder management
  • An International experience that required cultural agility



  • Experience operating in an international environment and cross-cultural context, managing & influencing stakeholders in lateral structure
  • Strong analytical skills. Able to interpret, synthesize and draw actionable recommendations from complex and different sources of insights and data
  • Knowledgeable about Marketing frameworks and principles
  • Knowledgeable about basic Financial ratios, P&L, balance sheets
  • Knowledgeable of resource allocation and brand investment
  • Personal leadership: be able to form a fact-based conviction, to spot improvement opportunities in current processes and suggest & influence change, comfort with ambiguity, strong conceptual and analytical problem solving
  • Stakeholder management and collaboration skills
