Is a pack of driven, pragmatic, passionate, warm-hearted brandbrewers something you want to be a part of? And can you combine solid analytical skills with a commercial flair?

Stay tuned, we might have something refreshing for your taste… Become our new Category Manager Off Trade!

What does a Category Manager at Alken-Maes do?

Being part of the Channel Marketing team, you contribute to the profitable and sustainable growth of our brands in the retail channel, by developing and implementing insights and plans for what is unarguably the most sparkling category out there.

You’re in your element when doing this

  • You’re the one bringing the outside view in, developing the assortment vision and elevating the category plan through analyzing customer strategy and category insights. The market evolutions and shopper behavior have no secrets for you and you know best how to play into them.
  • That means data, a whole lot of it – and you can’t wait to dive right in, translating into tangible insights and advice. You stimulate its implementation with our (strategic) customers.
  • You & our customers (Delhaize, Carrefour, Colruyt, …) stay close. You’re by their side (re)thinking the category, by translating their strategy into specific, high impact recommendations. Initiating, developing and evaluating relevant category projects together. Your shared goal is Cristal (pun intended) clear: developing that beer category to the potential you both know it has.
  • You introduce assortment innovations / extensions in line with the customer’s strategy, you develop and implement the ‘customer shelf’ layouts in a proactive way and you support choosing the right promo tactics based on your intel.
  • Doing all that, you surely want to know how well it all played out. That’s why you’re in the lead for the category track and performance analysis of our own and competitor’s actions and strategies.
  • Never alone, always together: you work closely together with our Key Account Managers preparing & executing business review & category meetings but also with our sales teams, within the scope of space management projects. And of course your Shopper Marketing co’s!

One look in the mirror tells you

  • At least a couple of years’ experience in the fast moving industry as a category manager, in trade marketing or as a business analyst.
  • Your main asset is your analytic skillset, you’re excellent with numbers and probably referred to by your current colleagues as the Excel-wizard. If your prename is Niels you’re probably tired by now of the Niels Nielsen jokes. Yes, that’s right, Nielsen reports hold no more secrets to you.
  • Commercial feel, great communication skills, you know how to convey your messages clearly and with impact, never losing your customer’s interests out of sight.
  • You speak English and Dutch or French.

What's in it for you? Unbottle it!
You will be joining a dynamic and interesting company where we all work towards one goal: serving consumers wonderfully refreshing beers and ciders. We're local and international. Alken-Maes combines a 100% local product with all the opportunities that Heineken offers as an international group. The best of both worlds, right? An exciting job in which no two days are the same. With what you’ll learn here, you can go in any direction.
Next to that, we of course offer you an attractive salary package with various fringe benefits such as group and hospitalization insurance, eco & meal vouchers and 33 leave days. Did we mention Thirsty Thursdays in our rooftop bar with refreshingly outgoing colleagues eager to meet you?

Interested and want to have a chat? The first round’s on us!
