Title:  Microbiologist

To execute microbiological checks for raw materials, work- in- progress and finished products in accordance to established standards and Heineken Laboratory Star System.

Result       Efficient Laboratory Support

  • Work independently to ensure the assigned task for raw materials, in-process, utility, finished products samples are tested in a timely manner and provide accurate results.
  • Compile QC data into graphs, charts, etc for routine and ad-hoc quality meetings.
  • Use laboratory data management system effectively to manage the laboratory generated data and retrieve the results to support the data trending and investigation purpose.
  • Write and/or revise the QC SOP/WI

 

Result       Accuracy and Reliability of Analyses / Equipment

  • Strong knowledge for the laboratory instruments with ability to do the basic equipment cleaning, maintenance and troubleshooting when needed.
  • Ensure the current, complete, legible notebooks and laboratory records are maintained in compliance with good laboratory practices.
  • Maintain QC inventory materials like media, reagents, chemicals and consumables to support testing.

 

 

Result       Continuous Improvement

  • Work closely with brewing department to make sure all the hygiene risks be identified and cleared.
  • Strong knowledge on the Root Cause Analysis to support the OOS/deviations/atypical results/invalid results investigation and lead the investigation in microbiology test.
  • Good knowledge in lean lab concept and actively involve or lead the continuous improvement project to improve the laboratory test efficiency and productivity.
  • Proactively monitor quality trends and abnormalities and timely keep management and other departments informed of quality issues as appropriate to enable immediate corrective action.

 

Result       Good Housekeeping and Safe Working Environment

  • Lead and maintain the housekeeping standard of laboratory, work area and equipment, observe safety requirements and Good Laboratory Practice in the laboratory which is compliant with company and regulatory standards.

At least 2 years’ experience in a QC Micro laboratory. Competent technical skills & Good laboratory skills. Hands-on experience of microbiological testing and environmental monitoring program.

  1. Knowledge of intermediate level computer skills – Word, Excel

  2. Fair job knowledge of brewing/ packaging process.

  3. Able to communicate effectively with good command of written and spoken English.
  4. Knowledge of QA/QC process.
  5. Knowledge of Laboratory equipment handling
