Title:  Tax manager (technology and risk management)

The Global Tax team seeks an exceptionally capable and motivated colleague to help deliver on its tax technology and risk management agenda.


The Global Tax Team is located in Amsterdam and Singapore, and consists of 14 people. The team is committed to add economic value to the business through long term optimization of all direct and indirect taxes in a controlled, sustainable and transparent way. The team operates in a challenging legal and regulatory environment with day-to-day high impact changes in (inter) national tax law combined with dynamic business developments.


The tax manager (technology and risk management) provides tax technical support to Heineken’s strategic transformation projects and drives tax risk management, including development and deployment of the HEINEKEN tax control framework.

Your responsibilities

The manager (technology and risk management) has the following responsibilities:

  • Develops, implements and maintains tax and related policies in the area of tax risk management and tax technology.
  • Ensures that the Heineken subsidiaries comply with tax policies through compliance with the HEINEKEN tax control framework, and remediates identified deficiencies.
  • Initiates, steers and/or participates in multi-functional strategic projects, like Sharp-X, to identify, create and implement globally scalable tax processes and solutions.
  • Drives program management and timely delivery of tax technology projects.
  • Coaches tax and finance colleagues in the area of tax technology and tax risk management.


Your profile

In order to be successful in this opportunity we expect you to have:

  • A master degree in tax economics and/or law.
  • 5-10 year of relevant experience in a large multinational (preferably FMCG) or Big4 firm.
  • Experience with indirect tax, ERP implementations and process improvement projects.
  • The ability to explain tax concepts clearly to a wide audience, and to translate business objectives into a clear plan of action.
  • Strong critical thinking, excellent communication skills, and ability to influence.
