Scientist Innovative Brewing

The team

At our R&D department, we passionately develop knowledge and technology in order to grow and protect the HEINEKEN business. Our R&D vision is to surprise and excite our consumer with healthy and sustainable products.

You will join a cross-disciplinary, multicultural R&D team, working in an agile matrix organisation to inspire and accelerate consumer-focused decisions for innovation and growth.

You will collaborate cross-functionally and beyond R&D with Marketing, Consumer & Market Insights, Procurement, Finance, Production, Quality and Supply chain colleagues as well as partners and research institutes across the globe.

Your responsibilities

As a Scientist Innovative Brewing you are responsible to:

  • Act as the global key contact of Brewing and Raw Materials to accelerate informed-based decision taking and build a winning portfolio of drinks
  • Embed applied research faster into programmes and projects to drive successful identification, scoping and implementation of solutions into consumer relevant innovations
  • (Co-)develop new research initiatives (on experimental and project scale) to support our portfolio.
  • Challenge internal and external stakeholders how to research in minimum viable ways to deliver fast and agile in collaborative team work
  • Build the Innovative Brewing Science capability: Learning, experimenting and developing new process and products that link development of novel brewing recipes with consumer needs.
  • Building networks in- and outside Heineken. Pro-actively keep up with trends & developments in the field of Brewing Chemistry & Technology, and Raw Materials
    Your profile
    In order to be successful in this opportunity we expect you to have:
  • Minimum 4 years work experience in a Bio-/Food Chemistry role. (Physical chemistry knowledge nice to have)
  • Experience in both fundamental scientific research and applied research with drive for fast and agile experimentation
  • Highly talented in interpretation of data: Capable to translate detailed insights into helicopter view and business contexts to lead recommendation for decision-takers
  • Role model in challenging the status quo with a courageous & curious learning behaviour
