Are you a graduate student, passionate about meetings & events management and looking for an experience in an international environment?


The position for the role of Meeting & Events Management Intern is now available a.s.a.p for the duration of 6 months. In this role, you report to Gudrun Lemli (Program Manager) and participate in the Zero Bad Cost Program for Head Office.

ZBC aims to embed a sustainable cost conscious culture in order to support HEINEKEN’s ambition to re-invest into the business.


You will be part of the Events & Membership Category Team that aims to build up a centralized knowledge and guidance platform for meetings and events organizers.

The Category Teams are led by Executive Team members and composed by senior experts in Procurement, Finance and Functional matters.


The Category Team will leverage your expertise, operational and communication support to shape, share and implement a new “cost conscious” strategy.  You will be at the centre of key decisions bodies and gain visibility across functions and entities and work in a very international team, based at the Amsterdam headquarters.


The internship is based in Amsterdam and available per September 2019 for the duration of 6 months.


Please note that all interns must be enrolled at a university for the entire duration of the internship. You will need to provide a proof of enrolment with your application. You also need to already hold a permit that allows the internship to take place in the Netherlands. Applications without this will not be considered.

Your responsibilities

In this internship you will be responsible for:

  • Mapping current needs and areas of improvement for our meetings & events organizers
  • Bring your expertise to set up and implement the “Events Portal” that will bring together best practices, guidelines, tools and advice from pre-planning to post-evaluation
  • Design a meetings & events shared calendar
  • Produce a list and build a maintenance process for frequently used venues and preferred suppliers
  • Create checklists, evaluation and feedback forms
  • Gather internal meetings & events photos to create a mood board to provide inspiration for organizers
  • Build up a community page on internal social media platform and develop a communication strategy



Your profile

  • You are a student at Bachelor/WO/Master level in a relevant field of study such as Hospitality and/or Event Management
  • Analytical, task oriented and able to work in a project environment in a structured way
  • Able to challenge and to think strategically
  • Work independently, proactive and articulate enough for engagement
  • Fluent in English (writing and oral) as the team is fully international
  • Versatile in excel / PowerPoint / SharePoint / Microsoft Teams
