Are you creating and driving great learning opportunities for our people?

As Technology Competency Development Lead, you will be developing, improving, deploying and coordinating competency development initiatives for the Technology Competence Centers and our Product Teams. You are part of the team Strategy and Governance in the department Global Information Services (GIS). In HEINEKEN GIS is responsible for shaping and driving the Technology agenda with its stakeholders. Together with the Leads of the Technology Competence Centers and Leadership Team members you will be advocating for a learning culture and driving all kinds of development initiatives. You develop the strategy for competency development, work with competency owners to make sure our Technology competencies are relevant, ensuring the Product Teams make use of the provided learning infrastructure and that teams and people know how to develop themselves effectively. You also coordinate the maintenance of our Knowledge assets and engage with experts who provide the updates. You are Champions League material if we talk about learning and development!

Day at the office

It’s Monday morning and you start your day with a check on LinkedIn Learning. How active is everyone and is any action required to increase activity or to make sure the most popular courses are shared on WorkPlace (Facebook@Work). Next up is a session with the Competence Center Lead Sourcing & License Management, with whom you work closely together to create a plan how to increase the overall competence level of all global IT employees in this area.

You have lunch with a few colleagues also sitting that day on the second floor of the Universe building in the heart of Amsterdam. You are in the office when it is required, but are also well facilitated to work from home. After lunch you have your monthly meeting with the GIS People Team to align all the development and recruitment initiatives going on in IT. You hear a few interesting things that you can immediately use for the GIS Development portal. This is your gateway for all relevant guidance on development, tooling for competency assessment and links to relevant external or internal sources. You then meet with the Competence Center Lead Cyber Security to discuss the timing of the next update of the Information Security Standard and Policy.

At the end of the day you meet with your direct colleague who is leading IT innovation to discuss the outcome of the demo you had about an AI based robot that can boost knowledge on certain topics and therefor competency development. Both excited how we can apply these kinds of new technologies, but also thinking about the question whether we can quantify the value such a robot would bring.

Time to go home! You are satisfied that you have done so many different things with so many different people today, but everything focussed on how to develop teams and people in IT.
