Title:  Global Lead Water Stewardship

Job purpose

Drive the delivery of the Every Drop strategy for Corporate Affairs in HEINEKEN.

 

BABW is one of the 5 strategic priorities for Heineken in Ambition 2020.

 

Within BaBW Every Drop is one of the 6 focus areas to protect our water resources globally.

 

The job purpose is to develop and implement an inspiring, compelling and context based (local circumstances) strategy for water stewardship and water circularity, based on the 2030 water ambition ‘Every Drop’.

  • Develop and implement the capability framework to enable CA colleagues to drive and implement strategy on water stewardship and circularity
  • Inspire and engage Regional & Local CA Directors/Sustainability managers of HEINEKEN OpCos to realise the Every Drop targets.
  • Responsible & accountable for internal and external reporting on water stewardship and water circularity for annual report, CDP and DJSI

 

Your responsibilities

As a Global Lead Water Stewardship you are responsible for:

  • Develop and implement an inspiring, compelling and context based (local circumstances) strategy for water balancing and water circularity, based on the 2030 water ambition ‘Every Drop’
    • Develop and implement strategy for Every Drop globally (water stewardship & water circularity).
    • Set targets for water balancing and water circularity and drive implementation to reach global targets.
    • Develop and deliver roadmap, working with OpCo’s, for water stewardship, water circularity and collective action, reflecting our 2030 targets. January 2020 Version: 01
      • Periodically, in collaboration with GSC, asses water stress areas globally to anticipate water risks and mitigate it.
      • Work together with GSC to makes sure that improving our water efficiencies keeps a strong relation with the overall aim of maintaining healthy watersheds.
      • Stay actively involved in relevant investment decisions.
  • Develop and implement the capability framework that assures that, those CA colleagues in the OpCo teams that are locally responsible for driving and achieving the targets on water balancing and water circularity, are skilled and trained to do so.
  • Develop policies, standards and ways of working to share new best practices and solutions globally amongst the relevant OpCo’s
    • Develop the required training material for all relevant levels and stakeholders in the company
    • Set –up and facilitate Centres of Excellence, Community building to stimulate peer-to-peer support amongst breweries/OpCo’s
    • Build the right network of global partners that could locally offer the OpCo’s support and project opportunities. This to avoid inefficiencies at local level
    • Build the right network to find the right partners and stakeholders to scale up the water stewardship activities through collaboration
  • Reporting and Measurement
    • Methodology owner for measuring the outcomes and impact of water balancing based on the Volumetric Benefit Accounting (VBA) standard.
    • Ensure global implementation of this measurement in all relevant OpCo’s and secure the required governance.
    • Responsible & accountable for internal and external reporting on water stewardship and water circularity for annual report, CDP and DJSI
  • Inspire and engage Regional & Local CA Directors/Sustainability managers of Heineken OpCo’s to realising targets Every Drop
  • Benchmark internally and externally to define performance gaps and opportunities.
  • Stakeholder Management / Influencing skills

 

Your profile

In order to be successful in this opportunity we expect you to have:

  • University Master’s degree and 5-10 years of experience in watershed management through partnerships and collaboration with internal & external stakeholders eg local and national governmental bodies, other industries etc.
  • Prior experience in managing initiatives across multiple geographies
  • Collaboration skills – able to work with different cultures and disciplines
  • Leadership – get people aligned on future vision
  • Convincing communicator with strong presentation skills
  • Problem solving skills & structured approach
  • Entrepreneurship: open mind-set, out of the box thinker
  • Planning & Organization – pro-active, energetic and result oriented
