Title:  Global Employee Engagement Lead

As part of our Ambition 2020 strategy to “Engage and Develop our People”, HEINEKEN has recently revised our global employee engagement strategy and approach in partnership with a new survey partner (Perceptyx).


In addition, through Data Driven Transformation programme, we are on a journey to further embrace and unlock the opportunity that data and digital provides across our business. From an HR perspective, it is critical that we further define what this means for enhancing our understanding of our employee experience.


Within this context, the purpose of the role is to provide the global direction and strategy, the continued evolution, and the effective delivery of this enhanced approach to measuring and improving our employee engagement across HEINEKEN. This includes going beyond the annual global survey to look at how we use data and insights to further understand our employee experience and defining the potential for increased use of data and digital technologies in measuring and improving our climate.

Key responsibilities:

  • The role entails working closely with multiple stakeholders including the HRLT, the wider HR community, the OpCo Climate project managers, our external partner and a variety of senior business stakeholders to define, engage and execute HEINEKEN’s enhanced approach to employee engagement and continuous listening.
  • The role will work in collaborative partnership with the above stakeholders to enhance and drive the strategy and methodology for HEINEKEN’s global employee engagement approach in partnership with the HRLT


This will include all the elements of running a high profile, global HR project such as:

  • Overseeing the operational management of the global employee engagement survey for c 85,000 employees across 80+ Operating Companies, supporting execution, global analysis and action planning, in partnership with our external survey provider.
  • Lead OpCo project managers to deliver the survey via global project planning, training and ongoing communications and engagement.
  • Work with external provider to agree and deliver against overall project plan and deadlines
  • Lead report definition / generation and survey analysis.
  • Coordinate the global communication strategy for the Climate Survey, including enhancements to current OpCo branding toolkit


At the same time, the role will also need to

  • Define and drive HEINEKEN’s global approach to moving beyond a single annual survey to ensure more continuous feedback, listening and follow up, with greater OpCo flexibility
  • Agree approach and Global / Region / OpCo governance regarding the philosophy and approach to pulse surveys and continuous listening.
  • Continue to investigate / assess options for developments in Climate Survey approaches, internal and external, and latest thinking on how companies are conducting employee engagement and supporting manager action planning
  • Provide strong organizational insights from the Climate Survey analysis to the Functional Chief and Executive Team to support strategy execution, performance improvement and the ongoing delivery of our strategic people agenda
  • Link approach to employee engagement / employee experience more closely to other core elements of our people strategy including the Global People Review process, Employer Brand (Go Places), Workplace collaboration, and Empower HRIS implementation as well as Global Corporate Affairs agenda - define interfaces and programme of work to ensure greater alignment and collaboration.
  • Utilize new technologies and approaches to develop better data and insights on employee experience, support manager follow up and continually improve our employee engagement.
  • Take data results and be able to translate these analytics into compelling stories and dashboards based on key business needs.


Qualifications :

  • 5+ years’ experience in HR roles with global remit
  • Ability to think and act both strategically and operationally
  • Experience of leading projects and implementing programmes in complex, global, multi-site organisations including a demonstrated ability to engage and build alignment across multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent project management and stakeholder management skills – able to plan well and work to deadlines in a complex project with many stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within the team across the business including at the senior executive level.
  • Experience of co-creating and delivering communication and capability building programmes – including up front facilitation, and through digital platforms.
  • Customer / end user orientation – experience of identifying and resolving issues in the end-to-end customer journey
  • Strong relationship building and networking skills
  • Team player mentality with professional maturity and pragmatism
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Good attention to detail and analytical skills
