Title:  Digital Academy Manager

Job purpose:    

Lead the design and delivery of HEINEKEN’s global digital foundations curriculum (“The Digi-Fit Academy”) in order to build the core skills, knowledge and mind-set needed across the organisation to succeed in the digital age.


Key responsibilities:

  • Develop, with the relevant business and functional stakeholders, the Digi-Fit Academy strategy and training approach.
  • Maintain the common global curriculum for digital foundations, including alignment with Functional Academies and build additional focus areas as appropriate based on business needs.
  • Define the global digital foundations annual training plan in partnership with OpCos / Functions order to drive the desired capability outcomes.
  • Curate and create learning content to ensure that each digital foundations focus area is supported by a clear development pathway.
  • Work with the Learning Technology team to ensure an innovative approach to on-demand and personalised digital learning delivery, integrated with our learning technology landscape.
  • Develop a clear communications plan (including use of campaign based marketing) to support the take-up, implementation and embedding of the Digi-Fit offer across the business.
  • lay a lead role in supporting the aligned design and delivery of Functional digital capability programmes as dictated by the annual delivery plan.
  • Establish a rapid design / curation methodology to ensure the learning offer is continually updated to meet current and future capability needs.
  • Establish clear criteria for the measurement and assessment of impact, creating innovative solutions to ensure the embedding of learning.
  • Manage the delivery of the target approach to agreed time, cost and performance criteria.



Direct report to the Director, Global Leadership & Organisation Development.  Part of the Global Talent & Leadership department, which consists of c. 25 people.


Measures of success / KPI’s:     


  • Digital Foundations offer defined, communicated and implemented in OpCos
  • Upskilling programme effectively and efficiently executed across key audiences in various geographies, with demonstrable impact
  • Measures including stakeholder engagement / feedback / impact, quality of programme execution, deployment program, communications, etc.
  • Upskilling the whole organisation on digital foundations is a key enabler for the execution of our HEINEKEN digital transformation.

Role requires a deep understanding of the regional and functional contexts and capability gaps across the organization and building an appropriate and flexible capability development strategy and plan to meet our business needs.

  • Challenges include collaborating with colleagues in the Centre (including close working with the Functional capability teams), Regional teams and OpCos to define and drive a common, coherent and business relevant set of key upskilling offers.
  • The role will cover the full cycle of Academy management, from HRLT / business engagement and partnering, learning needs identification, programme design, development, delivery in partnership with the relevant business and external stakeholders, impact evaluation, measurement and follow-up.




  • Bachelor or Masters degree
  • In-depth knowledge of learning technology and innovation trends, the various delivery channels / formats, what effective learning delivery looks like and how to measure it.
  • Previous experience in the digital learning space in similar global organisations, both in terms of creating content for digital upskilling and working with different technology platforms.
  • A digital native with a strong sense of the advantages and limitations of relevant technology and its application to learning,
  • Able to evaluate the pros and cons of using different channels, formats, suppliers across a range of considerations (e.g. user experience, systems compatibility/stability, learning quality and cost effectiveness).
  • Experience and expertise in leading projects in a complex, global organisation including a demonstrated ability to engage and build alignment across multiple stakeholders
  • Experience working with different Learning Management Systems and e-learning authoring tools.
  • Fluent English language required
