As we continue to strengthen our operations and build for the future, we are seeking high‑calibre Packaging Managers to lead one of our most critical production functions.

We currently have an immediate opening for one (1) Packaging Manager based in Port Moresby, reporting to the Brewery Manager.

 

 

Main Duties will also include:

 

  • Safety, food safety and sustainability: Implements, monitors, controls and reports Heineken Safety and Food safety standards, behaviours and procedures. Ensures that these are embedded and applied in the packaging operations and takes appropriate actions/measures to prevent them from happening, for both own and outsourced activities.

 

  • Quality of the process and product: Identifies quality risks, defines, implements and evaluates local quality procedures and working instructions, in line with applicable quality regulations and the Heineken Rules, Standards and Procedures.

 

  • Organization and people management: Effectively organizes own department and manages a team of people including recruitment, performance management and (career) development, according to the Heineken procedures.

 

  • TPM and continuous improvement: Initiates, implements and embeds improvements to packaging processes and procedures, according to TPM methodology. Explores new opportunities of packaging operations and supports innovation process.

 

  • Process management: Assures compliance with all the packaging process requirements in line with the Heineken Rules, Standards and procedures.

 

  • Equipment management: Defines the required packaging equipment and ensures that it's maintained at optimal costs and in line with HEINEKEN Standards and applicable regulations.

 

  • Management of information and reporting: Provides clear and accurate information on the packaging performance, according to mandatory KPIs.

 

  • Planning and execution: Plans staffing and resources to the appropriate packaging activities and monitors the execution and progress of the packaging planning, including productivity, priority setting and daily adjustments/instructions.

 

  • Suppliers’ management: Effectively communicates and cooperates with the suppliers. Supports the process of choosing the best supplier (machine, packaging material...) in a way that meets HEINEKEN standards.

 

Qualification & Experience:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, Food Technology, Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • At least 5 years of managerial experience in industrial food processing, beverage or FMCG operations.
  • Strong knowledge of Food Safety, GMP, HACCP, Total Productive Management and packaging technology.
  • Experience in packaging operations and quality assurance systems (TQM, GMP, HACCP, ISO) preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership and people management experience in a fast‑paced environment.
