Position Vacant: Electrical Technician

Function: Engineering

Location: Port Moresby

We have an immediate requirement for an Electrical Technician – Port Moresby , to join our Engineering Team, reporting to the Unplanned Maintenance Team Leader.

The Electrical technician execute maintenance tasks, ensures to report on machine condition and support production in achieving operational targets.

Main Duties will include:

· Execute planned maintenance tasks therefore, installations, inspections, fault finding, fix/solve and assist in root cause failure analysis, work administration.

· Execute planned maintenance tasks in area of responsibility when working in daytime: work preparation, execution, evaluation, work administration.

· Conduct PM inspection and report on machine condition:

· Executing STOP and RUNNING inspections to assess machine condition and report by means of tagging and raising Service Requests. Escalate issues to next higher level when needed

· Support production and improvement activities Support production with technical knowledge in case of change overs, AM tasks, adjustments. Participate in AM and PM teams for improvement (e.g. 5 why, kaizen)

· Daily completion of work orders OTIF on the CMMS

Qualification & Experience:

· Grade 10/12 with trade certificate from technical college, TAFE or equivalent

· Formal Technical training in Electrical

· A general interest in machine functioning: electrical, mechanical, automation

· Preferably experience in a production environment or mining.

· Electrical safety knowledge and skills for low voltage (<1000 Volts) and must be Licenced

· Able to be dual functional, Electrical and Instrument is preferable.

· Willing to learn and develop.
