Here within our Commercial Finance team, we play a critical role in helping the business deliver both the On Trade and the Total Business’s objectives through business partnering the commerce team, providing robust and insightful reporting and proactive management of the commercial cost base and balance sheet.
About the role
As the Finance Controller you’ll play a critical role in protecting the business, with responsibility for ensuring robust governance and financial control is in place across the On Trade. You’ll be accountable for managing the balance sheet integrity throughout the year, collaborating with multiple stakeholders to ensure compliance with our internal and external control framework.
Reporting to the On Trade Finance Manager, you’ll will manage and develop a team of 3 direct reports as well as acting as a key SME resource on larger strategic projects.
Who we’re looking for
A commercially aware Qualified Accountant with a track record of delivering a robust control environment within a fluid and fast moving commercial area. Your pro-active and positive attitude will allow you to intervene on fundamental issues and exploit business opportunities to drive profit growth.
Future opportunities: A successful candidate in the role could go on to a wide range of roles within commercial finance or the wider finance teams.
Our ways of working
Our office sites operate a hybrid model. You’ll spend Tuesdays, Thursdays and one other day in the office and two days from home, although but you’re more than welcome to come and work from the office on those days too.
We’re currently gearing up for an exciting move! In 2025, we’ll be relocating from our current location at Broadway Park (on the outskirts of Edinburgh) to a modern, flexible working space in the heart of the city centre.
The move to our new home at 6 St Andrew Square is expected to take place in the second quarter of 2025, subject to detailed planning and relevant approvals. The site will have great transport links and will be just a five minute walk from Waverley station.
There'll be plenty of support for colleagues during the transition to the new location, so stay tuned, and once you're onboard you'll have access to a SharePoint site with further details.
