Sr. Data Scientist

Senior Data Scientist – Heineken Netherlands Supply
 

As senior data scientist you are responsible for developing, validating and maintaining machine learning models, generating new insights, and communicating these within HEINEKEN Netherlands Supply. You translate complex information inquiries within the brewery to data science solutions and explain the results to business-oriented colleagues. With your background in manufacturing, machine learning/artificial intelligence, and an MSc or PhD in computer science, applied mathematics or related fields you are responsible for increasing the level of advanced analytics within the Data & Analytics Office of Heineken Netherlands.

 

What are your responsibilities as data scientist?

Your goal in this position is to resolve information inquiries within Heineken Netherlands Supply in a way to make smart use of our data and resources. Your main responsibilities are:

 

·         Development, validation and maintenance of machine learning models

·         Coaching other data scientists

·         Planning upcoming projects

·         Analyzing new datasets and identifying advanced analytics potential

·         Identifying of (latent) information needs within the brewery

·         Translating models from other breweries around the world

 

As data scientist you will be based in Zoeterwoude, The Netherlands, and you will be reporting to the Manager Data & Analytics Office of Heineken Netherlands.

 

Your working environment

Within HEINEKEN Netherlands, you will be a part of the Data & Analytics Office, where your team will consist of a growing number of passionate professionals. The main goal for you and your team is to enable your colleagues and customers to make informed decisions based on easy accessible and trusted data and insights.  The Data & Analytics Office consists of four teams: Data Governance, Reference & Master Data, Business Intelligence and Advanced Analytics. We do not only focus on experiments but foremost getting models implemented including data quality monitoring, model monitoring, ownership etcetera. You will perform Data Science projects (but not limited to) in the fields of 3 brewery environments, warehouse management, demand planning to operational planning, forecasting, segmentation, logistics, sustainability/circularity, HR and Finance.

 

Are you the data scientist we are looking for?
To be successful we’re looking for individuals who are analytically strong, but also know how to communicate results with stakeholders within the organization. You have a strong vision on how the Data Science profession is evolving (e.g. automation of Data Science, embedded ML in ERP, CRM software etc). Also the ideal candidate has:

 

·         An MSc/PhD degree, preferably in computer science, applied mathematics or related fields;

·         At least 3 years’ work experience in manufacturing (machine data, sensor data, MES, production lines);

·         At least 5 years’ work experience in data science;

·         Visible enthusiasm about and experience with machine learning/artificial intelligence;

·         Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and preferable also in Dutch;

·         A strong background in programming (Python is a must, R and Scala are a pre);

·         Experience with Microsoft Azure is a pre;

·         Please kindly note that you need to have an EU Working Permit (Orientation Year Visa not included) in order to proceed for this position.
