Manager Payments

Global E-Business is shaping an exciting new future and has designed a portfolio of solutions and services in a customer centric way to meet the needs and solve the pain points of our customers all over de world. One of the supporting digital solutions in this new E-Business unit is digital payments adoption. We are building an ePayments team to support our business and manage the ePayments service providers as well as the payments and fraud operations.  


The Payments Manager is the primary liaison between internal business and our ePayments vendors. He/she ensures strong vendor performance and effectively manages the cost of payments acceptance for Heineken.  


We are looking for an ambitious professional who has affinity with and a background in the payment industry, strong stakeholder management skills and is not afraid to manage negotiations and different interests internally and externally. 


Job location: Amsterdam, E-Business team 


Key responsibilities


  • Contributes to the development of strategies from concept to delivery, for centralised PSP management. 

  • Manage relationships with all third party ePayments and fraud providers. 

  • Strategic planning related to performance optimisation of payments and PSP active network: adding and removing payment methods, processing flows, consolidation of volumes, new partnerships, etc.  

  • Determine key performance indicators and perform analysis on e.g., customer payment behaviour, payments churn rate and fraud activity as well as the overall performance of PSPs. Creating the process to document results of analysis and drive an appropriate usage of these findings to achieve optimal set up. 

  • Perform issue management, including maintaining an issue log, tracking, prioritisation, communication, escalation, and resolution.   

  • Perform annual reviews with vendors of certifications and licenses. 

  • Perform quarterly business performance reviews with vendors.  

  • Manage ePayments vendor selection processes related to payments and fraud prevention. 

  • Support ePayments vendor implementations by being the intermediary between the Heineken teams involved in the implementation (local and central) and the Payment Service Providers. 

  • Contributes to designing the compliance assessment process for existing and new PSPs. 

  • Work with the ePayments product team to ensure seamless operations. 

  • Align with procurement and legal on new contracts renewals and terminations. 

  • Assist Legal and Procurement with contract management and termination, bringing the payments specific insights and knowledge. 

  • Provide stakeholders with industry updates, new technology and features.


Qualifications/ Experience / Skills 



Must have: 

At least 5 years of relevant experience in a similar position working with 3rd party suppliers including gateways, acquirers, APMs, and Orchestrators. 

  • strong stakeholder management: ability to build, maintain and enhance collaborative business relationships, internal and external. 

  • Strong performance management: ability to set, measure and evaluate KPIs. 

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Demonstrated multi-cultural experience through international work placements. 


Good to have: 

  • Procurement and vendor management experience.  

  • Experience working with Agile development methodologies. 




Very good written and verbal English.
