Purpose of the job
This internship offers a unique opportunity to work across multiple People functions, from talent acquisition and onboarding to employee engagement and HR operations, while contributing to projects that support the employee lifecycle.
The purpose is to give practical work experience to students who are in their final year of study and have a prerequisite to have practical work experience to obtain their qualification. The successful candidate will be expected to enter a 18-month contract.
Key Responsibilities
As the People Intern, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Supporting recruitment activities, facilitating the design, and audit of role profiles , screening CVs, scheduling interviews, and engaging external candidates during the sourcing and screening process.
- Assisting with onboarding and induction processes for new employees.
- Data Integrity & Management: maintain clear and accurate employee data across all the function across systems.
- Assisting in the coordination of training and development programs.
- Supporting employee engagement initiatives.
- Assisting with the preparation of HR reports, presentations, and documentation.
- Contributing to HR compliance and policy updates.
- Participating in HR-related projects and initiatives as needed.
- Support with key activities on learning initiative including, co-ordination, administration and reporting of key learning interventions across the business.
- Support to People Business Partners on People initiatives.
- Support with co-ordination of virtual onboarding sessions.
- Assist with administrative support on various projects where required.
- Assist with any catering, travel arrangements as/when required.
Experience
- Computer literacy – Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Excel skills essential – intermediate to advance skills required
- Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Is highly organized and detail-oriented
- Can maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Has the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Is a self-starter with a collaborative and proactive approach
- South African citizen.

- Certified academic record
- Certified copy of grade 12 certificate
- Certified copy of identity document
- A letter from the tertiary institution confirming that the student requires exposure to the workplace to obtain their qualification
- Proof of excel skills / certification essential
- A format for evaluation required by the tertiary institution (Logbook)
